Are loot boxes generated based on the heroes that you play to encourage you to pay money for the skin you really want?
After hearing about Activision's new patent which is designed to Influence you to purchase micro transactions based on matchmaking. In addition to other companies that they to sell you things based on what they think you'll want. I started wondering if Blizzard does something similar, manipulating the loot boxes to give you good stuff but not for the heroes that you play a lot.
In my case, I play a lot of Tracer, but I don't think I've gotten a single non common skin of hers randomly, I bought most of them with currency.
I don't know if I'm just being paranoid and seeing monsters in the shadows. I've loved how open the OW Dev team has been with us. However, most publishers have turned out to be scummy, Activision, Blizzard's sister company being one of the worst and with micro transactions as part of the loot box system I know the temptation is there to manipulate things to get the players to spend more money.
