Thank you guys for getting us so inspired in the first place! Overwatch is a great medium for things like this.
If I can ask; Do you have any advice on how to start in the game industry? I've set up my portfolio over the past few weeks (Including these Overwatch demos but also client and academic work), LinkedIn connections, etc. but writing that application letter for the first time is just so daunting... Got any tips on how to make a good first impression?
Sorry for the slow reply. Many people have already given great advice.
Most important thing, have a finished project or two. They can be small in scope but should be “done”. It’s ok to experiment and play with ideas, but a completed project stands out.
Be passionate. If you applied at Blizzard I’d bring this post as an example of how our games inspired a learning project. Great interview taking point. (What was the hardest part, etc.)
Finally. Don’t give up. Many of my friends interviewed a couple times before they landed the role that was best for them.

Nice work!
These types of posts are my favorite. The Overwatch community creates great stuff. Fan art, programmer learning projects, cosplay, etc.
You are all amazing and inspiring. Cheers.
