Hi I'm really curious about the debugging process for games like this in general. When you are looking at bugs like this and have found a way to recreate it, do you then use special tools to monitor the values associated with the bug? (Genji's ult in this instance)
For example because you now know that this bug is recreated via killing an enemy roadhog who has stunned genji who had been ulting at the same time, do you assume that the mechanism that triggers the end of the ult is not working?
This may require access to the GDC Vault, but our Senior Gameplay Engineer, Dan Reed, discussed our scripting system in depth this year at GDC 2017.
I think even without a login the slides are available here and give better insight into the system than I could in a reddit post. :)
