BattleTag Sharing

Welcome to the official BattleTag share thread. Since we've been having a lot of these pop up due to mysterious rumors of Blizzard flagging accounts, we're going to centralize this to one popular thread that people can use to share their BattleTag.

Note: Please do not reply to someone else's post with your BattleTag. Instead, reply to the main thread so that your tag will appear inline with all other tags.

Warning: Spamming your bnet ID or posting it in other threads where not relevent, or starting new threads will result in a 10 day ban.

I just wanted to say, even do plenty of us didn't get flagged. (Including myself) everyone seems to be complaining about how things worked out. (Which I agree with, its silly that the people that whined got in but people like us suffered) I completely understand why Blizzard did it. They are trying to keep the community mature and alive, games like -Insert other game here- are laughing at the situation using their alpha to hook people in and blizzard is making a market strat. Think of it in SC2 when you get 6 pooled you react to keep your eco alive. So I respect their choice of strategy but also hate it.

But people like /u/Zoevia have been trying their best to keep everyone happy and I tip my cavalry top hat and say. Jolly good show. (P.S the whole SC2 analogy I barely play SC2 so I used words my diamond friend uses a lot whilst I continue to play HoTS KappaPride) Also Navac#2787

EDIT : SO MANY TYPOS IM SORRY

I appreciate the SC2 analogy. You know the way to my <3.

    Hey Zoevia,

I'm not really contributing to this discussion, but just wanted to thank you guys for having a presence here in this community, and had a quick question.

I'm working on a website project regarding statistics and Overwatch, is there anyone I could get in touch with about this there at Blizzard who would be willing to talk? Thanks!

Sigh.. I'm usually an asshole, but comments like this make it very hard to be one :>

game looks great, looking forward to playing it when I get in - in the coming weeks/months or whenever I get lucky with a wave :p

keep up the good work. No just Zoevia, but everyone. Think this game has the potential to be another great hit like Hearthstone.

Thank you for the kind words! That means a lot, we're still very in awe with how excited people are for the game.

Is there a way to make sure my computer specs meet the minimum required for beta? I log on at work quite often and my work computer is really bad so I don't want it to take priority over my home pc.

I feel that this was a little unfortunate for the more mature r/overwatch audience. Let me elaborate:

From what you can tell by the amount of battletag comments in this thread (and the previous other one), there are 2,000-3,000 people in this subreddit that did hope for a beta invite but were mature enough not to make posts or comments to draw further attention to their saltiness. But now I do feel stupid for not having done what a mental child would have, because their nagging got them flagged while my quiet patience got me nothing.

I understand that it is hard to find the right way, there will always be people that'll feel left out and severely disappointed. I think it is a very nice idea to include a couple of redditors in the early beta.

But I do not understand why you had to spoil these kids (that very immaturely b*tched about the beta selection process) and thank them for their inconstructiveness by indeed flagging their accounts.

Now it's us quiet read-only subscribers that feel left out. :(

We've been grabbing some for a while now, beyond that thread. =)

    I do a moderate-average Batman impression, pick me #OutcastRY2862

(sidenote however; thank you for adding at least some clarification to the pits of /r/Overwatch, even as quite the newer sub 'tis appreciated)

    SWEAR TO ME.

Just want to say as one of the lucky few who's battle net tags were chosen, Thank you. There's not much else to say, but I was really having a horrible month, and when I found out I got in I couldn't believe it. Everything else in my life has been going terribly, but when all is said and done I can come back home and play some Overwatch. Thanks for giving me something to look forward to everyday no matter what!

Keep your head up! Tomorrow is not today and the future is worth fighting for!

I'm really glad to hear you guys are taking feedback from the community so early (especially the aim assist on gamepads)! My immediate feedback I'd like to provide without playing the game is that proper support for colorblind players such as myself would be greatly appreciated. Reds are like camouflage to my eyes, and having enemies forced red is slightly cruel. If I could change enemies to green (or white, then green or yellow crosshair), I would be delighted :).

Also, I had some thoughts on the netcode since I've seen a number of people dying to snipers after they have ducked behind cover. The model that Reflex ended up with is working incredibly well, but I don't know how feasible it is at this point in your development to look into netcode options. If you're curious, Reflex has lag compensation to a max of 80ms (which could be higher, but it's limited by the high amount of ground acceleration in the game). Half of the lag compensation is server side backwards reconciliation, the other half is client side extrapolation+some smoothing to clear up jitter. The end result is that when you aim at a player to shoot with 80ms or lower, your hitscan weapons land without issue, and since half of the lag compensation comes from extrapolation there is much less of an issue with people dying after they have gotten behind corner. Also, projectiles are spawned forward in space based on your ping so that you aim them the same regardless of ping (I'm not sure if Overwatch is doing this or not, but it's a simple improvement that helps players feel at home with projectile characters).

The beautiful thing about Reflex's model of netcode is that you get a very LAN-like feeling online. If you've played online shooters, you know that when you turn a corner, you don't expect to have someone fire at you the instant you can see them (nature of lag means that you are 'safe' until they have a chance to react based on ping). So online, you can turn a corner and get the first shot or two in before your opponent even knows that he should be dodging. If you play the same game on LAN, you might turn a corner and get shot the instant you see your opponent. Reflex's netcode has this same property of people reacting to each other at the same time even with 50ms vs 50ms. The extrapolation goes a long way in leveling out the aggressor's advantage.

It might not seem like a big deal, but when a game feels different online vs on LAN, people actually develop playstyles online that are less than optimal on LAN. Some people in QuakeLive (a game which presumably does the same in terms of netcode that Overwatch is doing - just server side backwards reconciliation) do much better online because their aggression wins them fights that they would lose on LAN. They've gotten into habits that work for what they are used to, then they under-perform at the big tournaments.

Anyway, I've been stuck watching my friends stream the game since the first day, and it would be absolutely wonderful to join them. KovaaK#1485 is my battletag. <3

Thank you for the feedback and the insight.

Just wanted to comment and say thanks for reaching out and letting the community know these things. As an aspiring community manager I understand that these types of issues can be problematic and so its always a tricky subject when having to try and appease your community while also doing whats best for Blizzard as a company. Ive seen other CMs turn a blind eye to anything negative so thanks for wading in and doing some form of damage control as this subreddit has been kind of rocky (read: salty) for the past couple of days.

Looking forward to finally getting my hands on the game and I know you all have the best intentions in mind.

    We're here everyday!

yeah ty guys. not that blizzard is even looking here...maybe?(:D) but everyone is trying to get in, i want 2. but nagging and cursing and other stuff is pointless. we need to understand that IT'S RANDOM. and for every beta someone didn't get, someone else did. and that someone can be you. yairthepanda#2631

We are always looking. We are always watching...Overwatching.

Thank you so much for confirming this information. Waiting becomes much easier with full communication from Blizz staff. Cannot wait to get in there and play! Happy Halloween weekend :)

    Happy Halloween to you!

Hey Zoevia, Lovehugs #1493 here. You may know me from my super popular overwatch channel on youtube or on the cover of most male model magazines.

Whats the percentage of Australians in the beta. So far I've heard of about 20. Is that going to change drastically when the Sydney server opens up?

    Haha.

I can't provide any details about the specific regional numbers but we the lack of regional servers is not ideal.

Oh well, I should have noticed this thread before leaving my battletag else where. It's the first time I'm doing this for a game... for me it says a lot about how much I want to play it :p. And I know I'm not alone lol.

Started playing Team Fortress Classic like 15 years ago and it has always been my favorite type of FPS. Been years since I was hoping to see a really good FPS like these ones appear on the market.

Even better, it's Blizzard who end up making it. Quality ensure. Thanks for making such great games Blizz :). Been a fan since Warcraft and Diablo 1. Keep the good work going!

We pulled from more than that thread! Thank you for being a fan. =)

I appreciate the support and help Zoevia. Its kinda cheap to see big streamers, youtubers e.g the yogscast getting beta access. They went as far to make a joke about how lucky they all were to get access.

BUT i do appreciate that playing the game is bonus and the main objective is to get data.

A lot of these folks (Yogscast included) reached out to us after playing on their own and came to meet the devs and ask questions to share with their community. We think the majority of folks we invited are really interested in the game long term and not as "the next big thing" and that's important to us!

    Hey!

We wanted to recognize the level of support from this community in particular, so just to confirm: we have indeed grabbed a handful of Battletags from different /r/Overwatch threads. Whether we do a pull again in the future is uncertain, but the only place you should be sharing your Battletag is in the stickied thread here.

The number of people we've directly invited to the beta only makes up about 1% of the entire beta population, though, so please be sure to also opt-in if you haven’t already: http://blizz.ly/JoinOverwatch

All in all, we are very humbled if not overwhelmed that everyone is so eager to get in to the Overwatch beta. We really want to do right by the community, and we apologize if it hasn’t felt like that since this process started. We are diligently reading your concerns and continuing to evaluate our strategies based on your feedback. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to not only improve our game, but also improve the way we communicate and interact with all of you.
