I'd figure the tombstones would be more graphically intensive due to their model being (what looks like) around 3 times larger than a skeleton.
Model size doesn't really matter, it's the number of polygons (essentially any flat surface) that the system has to render. A box with a mound of dirt probably has a lot fewer flat surfaces than a pile of bones.
