I feel like these trees will only eliminate the "cookie-cutterness" in PvP builds. Sorry Blizzard, but there will always be cookie-cutter builds in PvE, that's the way it's always been, and it'll never be any different. Just taking a quick glance, I can already see that some talent combinations will just straight up out-perform others, either that or entire tiers will be completely useless to certain specs and/or PvE content in general (sorry Mages, but your tier-6 perks are awful).
That said, no one has access to any Mists content so it sounds a little like I'm talking about my ass, but that's just my first impressions. Also not sure if these are final, which I can pretty much guarantee that they aren't.
They've even said that they don't expect to get rid of cookie-cutter builds in pve. However, the new system will mean that at the very least you'll be swapping them around somewhat regularly for different fights, which is a fair deal more interesting than "spec this and never look at your talents ever again."
