I think it seems like a really fun mechanic. But the fact that you commit the mana before your opponent, as opposed to debuffs that target creatures on-board and negate mana the opponent has already spent, will make Prank weaker than it looks at first.
The meta is very fast at the moment, but it does go through different phases. Many still shudder at the Aphelios days of infinite heal and card generation.
I really like Blue Sentinel, it's a nice medium-value card that does a few different things. Runeterra could do with more of those, I think.
You get an early blocker, some landmark synergy and a bit of ramp on a later turn. It won't be crazy, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's in a lot of decks.
I want to love it, but 5 mana... not sure even curving into Hecarim is worth it. You'd need a slow deck that intends to attack multiple times post-turn five.
I guess in a grindy control deck without many creatures... maybe? Attack with a Spiderling and get a bonus 5/2.
Tellstones going in every deck until the end of time: Demacia, P&Z, Shadow Isles
Decent: Shurima, Noxus, Ionia
Dodgy but maybe alright: Targon, Bandle
Yuck: Bilgewater
These seem nuuuuts except the Bilge one, which is ghastly.
Removal is much more efficient in mtg, so going all-in on one big token is terrible.
Tbf it seems pretty terrible in LoR too, but I assume the rest of the package will make it a bit more dynamic.
Why aren't these in-between expansion cards allowed to be good?
Don't transform effects normally 'heal' anyway, as damage doesn't carry over?
Yeah they're really scared of anything that can scale in crazy ways. Once per turn feels uninspiring, but we'll see.
Haven't seen anyone say this, but I think you can run Ziggs in mono-Shurima Sundisk.
Which might be terrible. But it's a thing.
I fricking dig your writing style.
Just had to say :P
Yeah it's an interesting comparison with Hush. Twice the price for permanent silence.
Comparing to Vengeance is also valid. One mana cheaper, at Burst, for the cost of leaving them with a 3/3. That seems shockingly good.
Definitely not great against some aggro decks tho - probably not good against Lulu/Zed, but maybe feels ok to hit Jinx with it.
Minimorph hits champions...
Expect that to be staple Bandle removal.

Good analysis.
Really well said, Flux.
I think the wording is like that because you can summon landmarks without paying for them, but they still have a printed mana cost.

"In LoL, LB shows up out of nowhere, blinks on top of you, does a ton of damage usually killing you, and then blinks out."
Based on that, something like Jarvan iv's summon from hand ability could have been interesting. And more useable with a 3-mana card.

I love the name 'Relics of Yore'.
Hol up...
Didn't realise there are only six of them.
Assumedly you can't roll Ledros, so it's only out of five.
Is it just 3 in 5, 60%? Or is it more complicated?
