Thank you, hope it’s fun! I’m a little bit behind on writing a guide as life has gotten in the way…but now with the mini-set the new Hunter/DK beast is warranting some consideration for this deck. Going to think of how to jam it in before posting the guide I have written.
The order of relics that Xy’mox casts is in fact random, and each one does benefit from the previous ones in the battlecry (in the example video, the battlecry alone pushes the three cast relics from 6->7->8)
Seconded, this archetype is very fun and can win against more decks than one would think. Even when I’m playing less optimal cards like Lady Ashvane and Doctor Krastinov I can steal games against meta decks with a 10/3 hammer and Mr. Smite. Fully recommended!
To echo everyone else, thanks for consolidating the lists and for all the work you do! You are a driving force for experimentation and creativity in the format and I know your work serves as motivation for many to log in and try out fun stuff.
Happy to see Demon Hunter a lot in some new cards in an already effective archetype. Really hoping the Fel/Spell stuff gets love so newer decks can be found too, the taunt Naga is a neat idea for midrangey kind of deck except it just isn’t a good card.
Thanks for the mention! I dropped the Hakkar, the Soulflayer for now to try a more “typical” version of the deck before I put him back in to go full meme. Excited to make abyssal curses tier 18!
Totally. I’ll probably keep the Curse of Agony as a fun/thematic component but drop the Hakkar/Phylactery combo once I’m actually able to play the deck.
I have an awful theorycrafted list I’m still not happy with on my profile. Looking forward to messing with it come Tuesday and elevating it from Tier 99 up to Tier 51
I agree. While I do not think they will meta-breaking or even great, from the little I saw of them on stream yesterday there is definitely potential for a fun archetype there. I’m currently trying to think up a Wild version that makes use of the curse package as well as the sheer stupidity of Hakkar, the Soulflayer and [Hearthstone Card (Tamsin’s Phylactery) Not Found] as a “why the hell not” inclusion.
I know it’s going to be bad, but I’m still excited to try out the curses and to get as stupid as possible with them. I love Affliction Warlock in WoW and it’s about time the developers were able to transfer the spec’s fantasy over to Hearthstone. Your list also looks way better than mine, since you aren’t running a combo of Hakkar, the Soulflayer and [Hearthstone Card (Tamsin’s Phylactery) Not Found] as a full chaos option.
Hope you update this with your experiences once the set launches! Thanks for sharing!
This is an astoundingly detailed guide and your love for the archetype clearly shines through. Definitely going on my list of things to try out in the future, I’m getting all nostalgic for old Hearthstone!

Great as always, this site is better for having you around and experimenting in Wild!
Yay! Happy to see this article series back again.
Me too, just waiting to see if it’s gonna be a three Unholy tune deck for me or a splash of something else (frost most likely.)
A splash does mean no Marrowgar though…

You know my vote already.
Love the ideas here! I’ll definitely be building up to this deck next after I am done messing around with Reno Fel DH.

Dude I love everything you stand for. Keep up the good fight.

I’m glad we both came to a very similar list haha. I take it to mean that I’m getting better at deck building if I can keep up with you!
A thought: does Sheldras Moontree work in conjunction with Hedra the Heretic? I would assume not but I’m curious.

I don’t care how awful it’s going to be, I’m ready to mess around with curses in the most DOT-y deck possible alongside Hakkar, the Soulflayer.
