If you want to make an ETC demon hunter there are a few cards you could consider.
First of all, to decrease the likelihood of the pick exploding on your turn you might want to include card generation like Snake Eyes and Ghost Writer to discover cards to fill the curve.
On the more gimmicky side you could run Storm Giant to ensure you spend all of your remaining mana by dumping it in extra forges, in the case your remaining mana is odd you would just have to use your hero power (provided you're not Reno yet)
The other cards you suggested (Prosecutor Mel'tranix, Reno, Lone Ranger) work pretty well for making the opponent explode once the pick gains enough damage.
Overall the idea of the deck is cool but keep in mind that in the case the opponent decides to tank the 8 damages early on there's not much you can do to avoid it, so you would at least have to run an alternative win condition.
I'm pretty sure Catch-Up packs won't contain cards from Showdown in the Badlands, they should contain cards for every other set currently in standard, if you look closely at the art of the packs you'll see the symbol of each of the other five expansions.
I have an idea for Hunter myself, albeit for the Wild format.
Basically I want to use the powerful effects of Aggramar, the Avenger in combo with the infinite value of Stormhammer, sadly there's a bit of antisynergy but it can easily be circumvented by playing the weapon after the battlecry of the Titan resolves.
Given Stormhammer's dependancy on dragons I get to try the new cards you mentioned (Starlight Whelp, Time-Lost Protodrake) and I also get an excuse to put the old greed card Kazakusan in it. Maybe later I'll create an actual decklist on the website for everyone to try out.
The new Hearthstone expansion is upon us, and unless I'm missing it I didn't find another thread to discuss what decks we are the most hyped for.
So, what legendaries do you hope to unpack?

Personally I'm very happy to see Warrior get Odyn, Prime Designate and I'm curious to see how much armor I can get in a single turn to abuse his power. Also it's kinda funny to me that after 5 years they still managed to dodge giving Odd Warrior a win condition.
Outside of Warrior I want to try the new Plague archetype for DK, that in my opinion has a lot of potential since with enough Frost Plagues you can technically shut down your opponent for good.
I'm curious to see what the rest of the community has to say about this expansion as a whole outside of the card-related threads.
I used to run a very similar list with Rat Pack and Ramming Mount, rat is cool because if your opponent doesn't clear it immediately you can buff it and get extra value to complete the quest, it's also useful after the quest is completed since it synergizes very well with the hero power allowing you to build a wider, more threatening board. Other inclusions you might want to consider are Snake Trap and Swarm of Locusts
I have had success using an heavy Control Warrior, you remove everything they play and after they run out of cards you can slam C'Thun on the empty board for the achievement.
I'm the author of the priest deck, and yes, I made a mistake while building it, initially I wanted to include Galakrond, but halfway through I realized that Shadowreaper was just better overall, updated the list btw!
The update is already live on PC (at least in EU but I assume that's the case for most regions if not all of them), when you first login after the update you'll se a huge list of cards changed, hofed and added to the classic set (this means that the new classic priest cards are already obtainable!) and at the end a popup lets you know that the duplicate protection is now active so you can't be wrong.

There's a mistake, you used the Valeera Book of Heroes version of the hero power "Sleight of Hand" rather than the Scabbs' one.

Have you considered putting in the quest to abuse of Emperor Wraps and get even more buffs?
The only thing I can think is using Making Mummies to get extra sporelings and being even more of a nuisance for your opponent.
