Thats because most ppl are missing the actual point in this new Layout:
HS is a video game, Battlegrounds is another and Mercenaries will be another different game as well. Think of it as HS on Battlenet client is just another client that spawns 3 different games that are linked together in terms of themes.

Just saw Trumps video on how Mercenaries mode works. In fact just like he says its an entirely new game but within the HS interface.
After seeing his video my hopes that this new game might be good and not as much of a cash grab just went up. I recommend giving it a watch

problem with Runeterra is that its too f2p friendly, which leaves me thinking if Riot is actually making enough money to keep the game on the long run.
