As OOC seeks to cover not just Hearthstone but other card games also, I thought I'd ask if there are any plans to add filtering for visitors to select/unselect the games they are interested in, and the main page filter accordingly.
However, that page doesn't show recent forum threads (ideally HS areas only), decks, brawl info etc though this could be changed.
As OOC expands to cover more games, with more articles/content, this could be really handy to help hone in on the things that interest the user. Not a huge issue right now, but I could see it perhaps becoming one.
Anyway whatever your plans - keep up the great work!
Well I'm glad they've at least tried to explain, reduce the punishments and not simply just hoped it would all blow over (which I don't think it would).
I still think 6 months is too harsh, surely just one would have been enough and if not then 2-3 for the player.
I'm skeptical about their claim China relationship was not a factor as was expressing an opposing view would have had the same level of penalties.
That said I should disclose that I fell out with Blizzard CS during my WoW days and politely promised them I'd never give them any money ever again (and hence why I am f2p in HS) - so perhaps I am biased here though I always try not to let that influence me too much.
I've actually been keeping an eye on Sottle's twitter recently expecting a strong statement from him. He's never been too shy about expressing his political views :)
For that reason I'd hoped he'd join fellow casters in pulling out, though of course it's his decision and by no means do I mean to imply he is doing anything wrong. And of course I don't know his personal contractual/financial situation.
The best thing would be for Blizzard to at least try to rectify the situation. Apologize, restore the winnings for Blitzchung except the season in question, reduce his ban to one season (a month) or something similar.
That way they have tempered their over to the top response to the rule break to something more reasonable. And I'd recommend they tread very carefully about being seen to pander to China in the future.
Well expressed without seeking to inflame the situation even more nor place blame on people who don't deserve it.
Nice one Brian.
I have no problem with the people of any country (excepting individuals or groups maybe), sadly that doesn't always extend to the governments/power structures of them though.
I think his point was it's possible to push the patch out days ahead with all the new event functionality disabled until a server side flag is switched.
Then there's plenty of time for the updated client to deploy for players on the different platforms and regions, and a press of a button at HQ permits new stuff to go live when it's the right time.
Minor downside from Team 5 perspective would be it allows data mining ahead of time, but then the cards and event details were announced ahead of time anyway. And I guess they have to be ready to ship the new client a few days earlier.
"This is certainly troubling that a single country, China, can have this much of an effect on Hearthstone when they quite clearly violate basic human rights."
Agreed. Money shouldn't be more or as important as treating people fairly and respecting their rights (which do not include non self defense violence from a small minority).
I sometimes wonder what intelligent alien life would think of our species if they came to peacefully visit. So you guys destroy your planet, kill each other and spend huge resources on defending your bit of land against members of your own species on other bits of land. You reward vapid "celebrities" and sports/entertainment stars obscenely whilst those that actually help humankind get far far less. Oh and many of the people on your world don't have enough food, clean drinking water or medical care and die/suffer as a result.
Hi there

Or if not, of course one can just visit say https://outof.cards/hearthstone

Cool book for collectors/fans :)
Wonder if it will show the design process for the maybe/maybe not China related art nerfs :P
Timely article - and well written. Bonus points for using the word "bifurcated" - thumbs up :)
You guys should add Blitzchung's response

Same thing happened to me last week with a different card - never realized either :)

You might be right. Though if they think that they will be wrong. Hopefully they'll at least try to soften their stance and do some damage limitation.

And on EU used King Mosh :P
Did the same thing except dropped Deathwing :P

Opened a pack on NA from the log in bonus today. Think this is the only time since playing I've opened a pack without a single common.

Update from discord:
Our developers are already looking into it! I'll update here as soon as we have anything to announce.
Update 2:
Now fixed!
Maybe, but as this will kill the stats collection for hsreplay.net I'm pretty sure they'll fix it ASAP.
FYI most recent patch seems to have broken Hearthstone Deck Tracker, likely as a new version on Unity is being employed.
Or at least myself and other people in the relevant discord are experiencing this issue.
Can play without but like to keep the stats and pack opening stats.
Thought I'd post to stop others from trying to fault find the problem as we'll need to wait for a HDT release to fix.

Humans. Just clever enough to be stupid.
