Been playing a bit of OTK Paladin now that Sathrovarr has been released and I have to say I'm impressed. I thought it would feel like a win-more card but it really isn't: it adds a huge spike/recovery turn that would otherwise cost you half of your combo damage to pull off before you empty your deck. Not only that, the sheer value of the card gives you some amount of lategame reach beyond the combo itself.
What did you cut for it?
Put him in over Subdue if you are running that. No reason to subdue someone when you can just split their soul apart.
I play all sorts of decks in casual. Many times I'll practice meta decks until I feel confident enough to take them to the ladder.
I do think it would be good to remove the gold farming from casual though. Just make it so you can only earn gold on the ladder, and I believe it would change the makeup of casual dramatically. Completing quests is fine, just remove the 10g earnings.
Also, you guys are talking a lot about tennis. Has Rafael Nadal even made Legend, bro?
Am I the only person here who doesn't watch tennis and has no fucking clue who Rafael Nadal is?
You know enough. Nadal is an elite tennis player. That's about the extent of my knowledge too!
I definitely don't think it would solve the issue entirely, but I'm sure that at the very least it would encourage more experimentation and odd homebrews when the gold incentive is taken away.
In any case, I'm ultimately of the opinion that people should just play what they want, where they want. I don't mind facing tier ones in casual at all.

A bit off topic, but have they ever put any of the older adventures on sale? I'm not interested in buying heroes, but I'd certainly like to pick up Naxx and others at a discounted price.
I am absolutely enraged by Blizzard's decision here. I still remember the day I obtained the Tyrande skin and all the effort involved. I activated the muscles in my right arm to click a mouse a few times, and then typed a bunch of letters using my keyboard. I even had to create one of those swirly email symbols, which requires using the shift key. It was no small feat, but I kept going and I was rewarded handily. When I went to bed that night, I remember my right arm throbbing a little bit, due to being overworked. It felt powerful in a way, and I thought about signing up for a gym membership so that I could replicate that feeling again (I didn't).
Anyway, the fact that all the plebeians get to experience this arrangement of pixels for zero effort is extremely upsetting to me. I think that Corky St. Clair sums it up best, so I say this to all of you:
Honestly, what's the difference? Chat is usually a waterfall of Twitchspeak and nonsense. It may as well be used for something like expressing one's support for a player who was treated too harshly by Blizzard.
Ah sorry I should have been more specific about the NBA example - since there are a lot of pieces to that one. The part that I appreciate is that the NBA commissioner has stated that he is sympathetic to those who were upset by Morey's pro Hong Kong tweet. However, he's not going to take action against Morey for exercising his freedom of speech. He's standing with him, even if it means a substantial loss of business in China. Basically, putting principles above profit in this example.
And I don't fault Blizzard for acting. I know they had to do something, but the harshness of the punishment doesn't sit well with me.
I expected to chuckle a little bit, but damn that was awesome! Brode with the major flow.
I might even forgive the usage of mustard.
Also, I love the part at 1:16 where the lady is like, "Ok I'll come back to this aisle later."

I wish I could use Nemsy for every class. She's the ultimate BM machine. Not that I EVER do that!

Yes, I prefer the traditional approach.

Dang, our very own loremaster, GoliathTheDwarf, totally called Galakrond happening. That's a smart dwarf you got there, OOC.
I'll be passing, but when is OutofCardsCon?
It's designed to come apart and cause embarrassing moments. AND fit in suitcases.
Eddie was balling out! He read DeadDraw like a children's book. Really impressed by his play.
They don't call him Cheaty for nothing!
Looks good, but that Book of Specters seems pretty tough on paper, considering that about a third of the deck is spells.
Candy corn. Why did it have to be candy corn? Nasty....
His updated list swaps in Imp Gang Boss for EVIL Cable Rat. I must say, very viable for climbing with all the greedy N’Zoth decks everywhere.
And Quest Druids fall to the mat like Glass Joe, which is enough to keep me playing this one. 🥊
They could have nerfed the punishment a bit more, but I am happy that the dude is getting his money. That part felt really lowdown.
