Yes, they actually even allow colliding nicknames... multiple people can have same nick and then numbers after # just will be different (that is why they have those numbers)

Why resist crafting. Sure you lose a lot of coins, but the you just farm Heroic Air elemental to get 17 tasks and you have enough coins to upgrade everything...
