Fans of the Mass Effect series have some gamechanging news ahead of us, as people have managed to find a trailer for the cancelled Mass Effect 5, posted to the Mass Effect subreddit, a day ahead of BioWare being shut down by Electronic Arts.
The name of the game would've been Mass Effect: Universe. There's no word from either EA or BioWare about the trailer, but Jason Schreier is apparently able to confirm that the trailer is legitimate. Multiple other sources seem to believe him too.
There was no planned release date for the trailer, although there is a message at the beginning that implies that it was meant to be shown at a later date, probably at either N7 or The Game Awards.
After the studio was shut down, a petition was made by fans of the series to save it, and now we know exactly what it's saving. As of writing this article, it has gathered over 22,000 signatures in the span of a day.
