Does anyone know how C'Thun, the Shattered will function if one of his pieces is transformed into another spell due to this secret?
I really need to know what the text flavor is on this card... perhaps a reference to a song by Sir Mix-A-Lot?
Edit:
What a disappointment:
Many wonders lie within, but they are not mere toys when your mind is their plaything.
FINALLY! A SECRET THAT Works well with Rhyssa! Oh wait...
Begone all Secret lovers! But if you are also a Yogg worshiper, you can stay.
Mind Control transforms into a Pyroblast ... Neat
this'll be hilarious to use if there's a lot of quest decks back in the mix.
That isnt going to work. If you go first, they start with a Coin, if they go first, they cast the Quest before you can act.
Secret Mage showed us that people aren't always playing around Counter Spell turn 1...
I remember reading a post by a HS Game Developer saying that the card he was most existed about for the next expansion was a paladin secret. Here's why.
The developer must be as tired of Libram Pali as we are.
Any card that messes with your opponents plays is not to be taken lightly lol. This is terrifying.
I just know I'm going to run in to an odd paladin who plays this irrespective of what the best meta odd pala deck is.
When I try to clear their dudes I'll end up buffing them I know it.
Although fun, keep in mind it goes both ways. A non-removal card can destroy your entire board.
Wow. This is the card that will make paladin terrifying.
Paladin has always hated the removal, silence, and transformation disruptions from their other classes just because it would have no way to stop it. Libram paladin only had to fear those few classes that could actually have access to them, but this thing can make the class unstoppable when played right. Leading ahead on board and proper hand reading will force others to make a suboptimal move to trigger the secret away or, worse, fall into it and lose in the spot. You can end up countering brawl, puzzle box, all of preist's board clears, hex, polymorph, skull of guldan, even just stopping dh's twin slice is game winning. This will require proper play and game state understanding from the paladin, but when done correctly, it will really difficult to lose with the libram package anymore
One of the devs said the pally secret was one of their favourite cards in the set (I think in response to a question about whether they were planning to take secrets away from the class in the Basic/Classic overhaul next year), and I was wondering what 1 mana effect could ever be interesting enough to earn that. Well, now we are here, it did not disappoint.
The variance is large, but you at least have some idea of how badly things can go at any given mana cost, so you can actually make contingency plans. So on this occasion I'll let the 'cast a random spell' RNG pass.
Imagine trying to play non removal spell and you end up destroying your own board, worst case in wild Cataclysm Myra's Unstable Element or Astral Communion
Seems like they kept the best for last.
Trolden deluxe card!
