All the new Shaman cards for Voyage to the Sunken City have been revealed and in this article we're going to discuss how they will impact Wild in general and any specific decks they can fit into.

Here is how the cards will be rated:

  • 5 stars means a card that can see a lot of play in meta defining and powerful decks
  • 4 stars means a card that can see some play in the best decks and a lot of play in slightly less competitive meta decks
  • 3 stars means a card that can see some play in less optimal meta decks or is good for some off meta decks
  • 2 stars means a card that can see play in any deck, even if it's a very niche or weak archetype
  • 1 star means a card that won't see any play at all

Glugg the Gulper

Our Wild Rating

Glugg the Gulper is generally too slow for Wild, but it can see play in Evolve Shaman as a followup to your turn 5 and 6 boards or as a decent Evolve target itself.

Radiance of Azshara

Radiance of Azshara Card Image

Our Wild Rating

There is a Burn Shaman deck with Drek'Thar, Spirit of the Frogs, and spells of various classes that may want to try Radiance of Azshara to generally boost the power of the spells.

Wrathspine Enchanter

Wrathspine Enchanter Card Image

Our Wild Rating

Wrathspine Enchanter is slow for the general meta, but some off meta decks may play him. His raw power is high especially with some high value spells like Eye of the Storm, Don't Stand in the Fire!, and Windchill. Overall though, this strategy is very inconsistent. A lack of a good high cost Frost spell (Glaciate is really bad on its own) makes it worse than it could be, and even with the other spell schools there is a lack of good options and you won't always have Eye of the Storm in hand.

Bioluminescence

Our Wild Rating

Outside of some Combo decks, Bioluminescence won't see play, and this will be far from the most competitive Combo deck for Shaman in Wild.

Coral Keeper

Our Wild Rating

Coral Keeper and a spells of different schools package can be played in some off meta decks like Elemental Shaman along with Multicaster for draw.

Piranha Poacher

Piranha Poacher Card Image

Our Wild Rating

Don't play Piranha Poacher in Murloc Shaman, there are way better murlocs to play in Wild and the whole Piranha Swarmer package is not worth playing in any deck in Wild.

Azsharan Scroll

Azsharan Scroll Card Image

Our Wild Rating

Azsharan Scroll can see play in decks that use Coral Keeper and Multicaster to discover a spell of a school you haven't played yet.

Anchored Totem

Our Wild Rating

Might be worth trying in Even Shaman with Totem synergies, but other than that unless Cute Shaman becomes a thing Anchored Totem won't be good.

Schooling

Our Wild Rating

Don't play Schooling in Wild.

Scalding Geyser

Our Wild Rating

Scalding Geyser can be played in Burn Shaman and decks that care about getting specific cards in hand or run Coral Keeper and Multicaster.

Overall Set Score

Sunken City Wild Shaman

Shaman doesn't gain much at all that will be playable in Wild outside of niche and off meta decks. This will have almost no impact on meta play.
