Another month, another Festival coming to Master Duel! This time, it is the Fusion Festival, focusing entirely on the original Extra Deck Summoning mechanic.

This announcement comes at the same time as the new cards that were announced, some of them being powerful Fusion Monsters, like Destiny HERO - Destroyer Phoenix Enforcer (starting to see a pattern). The event starts on May 11th/12th, and will last until May 22nd/23rd. Let's see what we've got!

Rewards and Missions

Along with the announcement of the Festival, the rewards track has also been published. You can check it out in Duels -> Event Duel -> Rewards List. You earn rewards by obtaining Medals during the Festival. It's likely the same structure from the two previous events, where you earn 500 Medals for winning and 50 for losing, but you won't earn anything if you surrender.

The rewards are identical to the ones from the Synchro Festivals, save for cosmetics. The first two thirds of the track consist of Gem Rewards, while the end of the track is filled with Reward Tickets for Bonus Synchro Packs that we don't know the contents of yet. There's a total of 2300 Gems and 20 Reward Packs.

The cosmetic rewards are a Mate representing the instant noodles cup from the artwork of Instant Fusion at 5500 Medals, and a Fusion Festival 2022 Title at 22000 Medals (the very last reward).

There's also likely to be special mission to complete during the event. Those haven't been published yet, but, if they follow the format from the Synchro Festival, that's another 1000 Gems players can earn.

Update: The event missions have been added, as expected. You can see their breakdown below:

  • Special Summon a Monster/Normal Summon a Monster/a card on your opponent's field are destroyed:
    • 3 and 5 times: 30 Gems each
    • 10 times: 40 Gems
    • 20, 30, and 50 times: 50 Gems each
  • Duel in the event:
    • 2, 3, 5, 7, and 10 Duels: 50 Gems each

That's 1000 Gems from the missions. In total, the Festival as a whole will give you 3300 Gems. Some previous events also added more missions down the line, so keep an eye out for that.

Loaner Decks

Like with the previous two events, 3 Loaner decks are available for players. You can select any of them to play during the event if you can't or don't want to build your own.

Converging Illusion of Destiny

This deck aims to fusion summon "Destiny HERO" and "Vision HERO" monsters by taking advantage of the strength of each "HERO" archetype. The Fusion Monsters in the Extra deck, including Destiny HERO - Destroyer Phoenix Enforcer, have a wide variety of effects and required Fusion Materials. Call in the appropriate "HERO" for the occasion and bring about your destiny of victory!

The Heart of a Sky with Perse Clouds

Frightfur Chimera Card Image Frightfur Fusion Card Image Dangerous Frightfur Nightmary Card Image

This Deck aims to Fusion Summon by using "Fluffal" and "Edge Imp" monsters. Some of the "Fluffal" monsters, such as Fluffal Dolphin, have effects that can be activated if they are sent to the Graveyard as Fusion Summoning material. If you take advantage of them, you'll have a bunch of Fusion Monsters showing up on the field in no time!

Pleasure-Devouring Venom Dragon

Predaplant Triphyoverutum Card Image Predaprime Fusion Card Image Starving Venemy Lethal Dose Dragon Card Image

This Deck aims to Fusion Summon by using "Predaplant" monsters. Placing Predaplant Counters on your opponent's monsters makes your "Predaplant" monsters even more deadly, so try to use them wisely. Be greedy and use the effects of cardslike Predaplant Chlamydosundew, to use even your opponent's monsters as materials for a Fusion Summon!

As with the other events, this one has it's own Forbidden and Limited List. You can check it out below (it does not mention any limits that also apply in the normal game mode, or non-Synchro Extra Deck Monsters).
