Yu-Gi-Oh's Dimension Force Launched Last Friday in the TCG - Here’s a Quick Breakdown

Yu-Gi-Oh's latest booster set, Dimension Force, went live last week in Europe and North America. The set introduces the Scareclaw and Therion archetypes, and offers support for a large number of existing playstyles, with the most cards going to Libromancer, Predaplant, Heroic, and Symphonic Warrior archetypes, plus Zombie and Pendulum Monsters.

Aside from all the support, this set also has some neat cards. Of note is Odd-Eyes Pendulumgraph Dragon, the very first Pendulum Ritual Monster in the game. It also brings back [YuGiOh Card (Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion) Not Found] as a Starlight Rare, and the only reprint of the set. Lastly, it contains Musical Sumo Dice Games, an... interesting instant-win card for Xzy Monsters.

Scareclaw

This archetype is comprised of mostly Beast-Type Monsters, with the Extra Deck monsters being Beast-Warrior. The archetype is inspired by and named after various real-life phobias, with the exception of the "Heart" Monsters, who seem to depict Scareclaw Reichheart gaining more bestial traits as it transforms into Scareclaw Light-Heart and Scareclaw Tri-Heart. The card Visas Starfrost is also technically part of this archetype, as it's one of the possible materials for Light-Heart and seems to depict Reichheart before the transformation.

Gameplay-wise, the archetype revolves around being able to summon Scareclaw monsters next to each other, with each Main-Deck Monster being able to boost Extra Deck Monsters in some way. The main strategy seems to be swarming the board, going into Tri-Heart, then using it's effect to bring back one of the materials used for it's summon and draw another Scareclaw, which can be summoned immediately. Tri-Hearth also has some built-in protection, so keeping it on the board and beating your opponent with it seems to be the main strategy.

Therion

This archetype is inspired by the Western Zodiac, much like how Zoodiacs are inspired by the Eastern one. "Thēríon" is the Greek word for "wild animal" or "beast", and the Monsters are named after various stars from constellations of the Western Zodiac. They also have access to the Spell Card Endless Engine Argyro System, which can send a Therion to the GY with one effect, and add either Itself or another Therion from the GY to your hand with another.

This archetype revolves around cheating out high-level Effect Monsters by equipping another monster from the graveyard to them. The equip Monster must either be another Therion, or a monster of the same Type. All the Therions also have a specific secondary effect, and, while equipped to another Therion, it gives it that effect and an extra 700 ATK.
