MARVEL SNAP's Hot Location this weekend is Nidavellir!
Nidavellir is an arms race; both players are likely going to have to commit the full four cards to the Location to guarantee that they win it, while staying diversified enough to take one of the other Locations as well. It's not a huge departure from standard MARVEL SNAP gameplay, but the Hot Location will probably favor decks that can efficiently take control of Nidavellir - using Mojo to benefit from their opponent's need to fill it, while keeping an eye out for a potential Shang-Chi.
However you choose to plan for the Hot Location, you'd better get used to it; being a Hot Location means that Nidavellir will have a 60% chance to appear for 24 hours, from 7 PM PT Saturday night to 7 PM PT Sunday night (2 AM UTC Sunday to 2 AM UTC Monday).
Ongoing: If both players have 4 cards at this location, +6 Power. On Reveal: Destroy all enemy cards at this location that have 9 or more Power.
Hot Decks for Nidavellir
If you're looking for ideas of what decks you can play to the Hot Location, we've got you covered: with decks for players just starting out in Series 1, players still moving up through Series 2, and players who are starting to fill their collections with cards from Series 3, 4, and 5.
Series 1 Odin Zoo
This low-curve Zoo deck can summon a lot of small cards across the board, then fill up those remaining spots with a late-game combo from White Tiger and Odin. Rocket Raccoon can be a big swing on Nidavellir, farming extra Power from your opponent's predictable desire to get bodies there. Elektra has potential if you save her for turn 6 to use on your opponent's full Nidavellir, it can take out an opposing 1-Drop for a neat little swing.
Series 2 Ongoing
Because Shang-Chi starts showing up in Series 2, we've either got to make sure that the cards we're playing to Nidavellir don't cross that ever-important 9 Power threshold or play Armor to protect them from destruction. Our first Series 2 deck takes the Armor approach, stuffing itself full of Ongoing effects so it can get the maximum buff from Spectrum. While most of our cards want to go to Nidavellir, guys like Ebony Maw and Lizard are better used holding down the other locations.
Series 2 Control
Alternatively, you can press your advantage with your opponent's reliance on Nidavellir and either take it away from them with Storm or get rid of any cards that got too big with Shang-Chi, all while doing your own thing with The Collector and Devil Dinosaur.
Series 3 Patriot
If you're looking for a deck that can fill the Hot Location with premium bodies, a Patriot deck that runs Ultron to ensure there's always four bodies at Nidavellir seems like a good place to start. On top of that, we've got more AoE buffs with Ka-Zar and Blue Marvel (that we can copy with Mystique). We've teched in Armor to keep our opponent from getting any of the wrong ideas.
Series 3 Destroyer
Destroyer is a good strategy for Nidavellir - you pack the Hot Location with your Ongoing cards like Armor, Mojo, and Warpath, then win another location with the single big body.
What are Hot Locations in MARVEL SNAP?
There are two different types of location events in MARVEL SNAP.
- Sunday's Hot Location that have a 60% chance to appear for the next 24 hours.
- Wednesday's Featured Location that have a 40% chance to appear for the next 48 hours.
Unlike the Featured Location (which is always a new Location), Sunday's Hot Location will pull from the pool of existing Locations. Its increased appearance rate will shake up the meta for a day - for example, Odin was the finisher of choice for many players when Kamar-Taj was the Hot Location.
Have your own strategy for capitalizing on the Nidavellir Hot Location? Make your deck using our MARVEL SNAP deckbuilder, then share them in the comments!

Venom has insane synergy with location actually... Because he gets +15 extra and then 5 on top (when he eats he doesn't count base stats but buffed stats)
