Cosmic Ocean Is a New Selection Pack Available Right Now in Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel

We have a new Selection Pack in Master Duel, and this one is Ocean Themed! For the most part. The contents are similar to the TCG booster pack Legendary Duelists: Duels from the Deep, with some cards for archetypes that were introduced earlier in the year, like Icejade, Floowandereeze, and The Agent. Let's take a look!

Marincess

A deck used by Skye Zaizen, a.k.a. Blue Angel/Gal/Maiden, in the Yu-Gi-Oh Vrains series. This is a deck that focuses on bringing out the Marincess Link Monsters and equipping them with other Marincess Monsters. The deck gets some swarming ability in the form of Sleepy Maiden and Springirl, a negate in Aqua Argonaut, and some resurrection and conditional tutoring thanks to Dive.

[YuGiOh Card (Reincarnation of the Seven Emperors) Not Found]

This one's a bit of an amalgamation, as it contains a lot of Shark monsters that can also be used by the following archetype we're covering, plus a large number of Xyz monsters that aren't tied to the archetype. This is a deck used by Reginald Kastle, a.k.a Shark, a.k.a. Nash, in Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal. It's an Xyz-focused deck, whose main goal is to get out Number C101: Silent Honor DARK. The deck receives support in the form of Abyss Shark and Crystal Shark, which can help you Xyz Summon easier, while N.As.H. Knight lets you keep the field in check and helps you get to CXyz N.As.Ch. Knight, which can bring out powerful Number Monsters easier.

This pack actually goes a little further with the support than the TCG equivalent. The update introduced 3 cards to Master Duel that aren't available in the TCG: [YuGiOh Card (Numbers Evaille) Not Found], [YuGiOh Card (Rebirth of the Seven Emperors) Not Found], and [YuGiOh Card (Reincarnation of the Seven Emperors) Not Found] (the MD names are slightly different from what we have in the database). This continues the trend established in the previous Selection Pack, The Newborn Dragon, where there are cards that are in MD, but not the TCG.

Umi/The Legendary Fisherman

A deck used by Mako Tsunami in the anime. It has a lot of cards that benefit from having Umi on the board (a role played in this pack by A Legendary Ocean and Sea Stealth II), and uses The Legendary Fisherman III as its boss monster. The deck gets some new cards like Doom Kraken which allow you to control the field, while Mega Fortress Whale and Fish Sonar give the deck some consistency. The pack also bring Kairyu-Shin's Dark Reef to the game, which won't be released in the TCG for another month. 

Icejade

The one WATER archetype in the pack not related to any anime character. The deck was introduced to Master Duel all the way back in May, in Refined Blade, and is finally getting some new support. Icejades are WATER Aqua Monsters who represent feminine humans made out of a crystalline substance with water-like properties. They are named either after the two types of jade (nephrite and jadeite) or after animals whose names are associated with jade. The deck's playstyle is build around stalling your opponent and weakening their monsters.

Other Archetypes/Cards With No Archetypes

The cards here don't fit the theme of the pack for the most part, so we're putting them all together in one place. A few archetypes got some new cards to play with, most notably Simorgh, The Agent, Floowandereeze, and Harpies each getting a new card, with some of them even having some old cards in the pack so you can build a deck.
