MARVEL SNAP's newest featured location, Bar Sinister, has inspired an assortment of strategies over the past day, but there's still time to take advantage of its increased appearance. With that in mind, we've put together a list of decks that can win with Bar Sinister for players at every level of Collection: from the very beginners to those whose collection is near completion.
As a featured Location, Bar Sinister will show up 40% more frequently for 48 hours, from 8 PM PT Tuesday night to 8 PM PT Thursday night - that gives us just enough time to try out these decks that want to see it more often.
Starter Deck
We'll start you off with a deck that can abuse Bar Sinister without needing any cards from Pool 1 or beyond - something that every player can try out. Thanks to Blue Marvel and Ka-Zar, you can fill Bar Sinister with a powerful AoE buff that helps you win the other locations. To that end, it's packing a lot of cheap cards to fill those locations and Iron Man for a one location buff. Or, you could play a Hulk to Bar Sinister.
Pool 1
We've got two Pool 1 takes on the Featured Location this week, starting off with a deck going all-in on Bar Sinister with an Exodia combo. The combo works like this: First, play Nightcrawler to Bar Sinister (which will populate itself with four Nightcrawlers). On turn 5, move a single Nightcrawler away and play Blue Marvel (or Ka-Zar) to Bar Sinister. On turn 6, move the other three Nightcrawlers away and play Onslaught to Bar Sinister to summon two more Onslaughts to exponentially increase the Ongoing buff:
If you don't draw that combo, you can fill the location with just Blue Marvel, or use Enchantress to shut off your opponent's buff and play for the other two locations with efficient cards like Deathlok, Hulk Buster, and Jessica Jones that give you a lot of Power without taking up too much space.
If controlling Bar Sinister (and the rest of the board) is more your style, try running Professor X to keep your opponent on the backfoot. This deck is trying to be less over-the-top with its Bar Sinister synergies, running Devil Dinosaur and a host of cards that replace themselves to win multiple locations without a lot of fuss.
Pool 2
In Pool 2, things get very interesting for Bar Sinister. This list is looking not just to put a lot of Power to the Bar, but also trying to keep its opponent from doing anything too nasty. Playing Yondu or Korg to Bar Sinister will trigger the On Reveal effect four times, sapping the strength out of your opponent's draws. But don't think you're locked out of Bar Sinister with a measly eight Power there, because a follow-up Killmonger will clear the location for something more powerful, like The Infinaut or Devil Dinosaur. If you plan ahead, you could rule the day.
Pool 3
Discard is one way to go with Bar Sinister, especially once you get to Pool 3 and have access to powerful Discard synergies like Morbius and Ghost Rider. You can choose to play Morbius there early, and feed on the ensuing Discard effects, or you could drop Dracula there late, watch him discard The Infinaut, and reap the rewards.
Barring that (pun intended), you can play Green Goblin to the Featured Location and fill your opponent's side with -3 Power Willem Dafoes.
