We've got a featured location in MARVEL SNAP and it's Wakanda!
Wakanda is an existing location being featured in MARVEL SNAP as part of the May Season: Guardians Greatest Hits. Cards there can't be destroyed.
Wakanda is a shelter for big cards trying to escape the notice of Shang-Chi, or for 1-Drops fleeing the wrath of Killmonger. It's also a neat trick for Destroyer decks, giving them a place to play the cards they don't want to lose without needing to draw Armor.
However you choose to plan for the featured location, you'd better get used to it; being a featured location means that Wakanda will have a 50% chance to appear for 24 hours, from 8 PM PT Tuesday night to 8 PM PT Wednesday night (2 AM UTC Wednesday to 2 AM UTC Thursday).
What Are Featured Locations in MARVEL SNAP?
There are two different types of location events in MARVEL SNAP, both of which have a 50% chance of appearing for the next 24 hours.
- Sunday's Hot Location that always pulls from existing locations.
- Wednesday's Featured Location that usually shows off new locations, but will pull from the pool of existing locations from time to time.
This helps pave way for new deckbuilding strategies as you may want to be playing something else should the bonus better benefit cards you aren't playing with. We've seen this previously with the featured location, Monster Island, whose boosted appearances meant many players ran Shang-Chi to destroy the 9 Power Monster.
Hot Decks for Wakanda

Series 1 Zoo
There's not a whole lot to worry about with regards to removal for players still moving through Series 1, but this Zoo deck can play to Wakanda safe in the knowledge that none of their 1-Drops are going to be sniped by Elektra.
Series 2 Big Jubilee
This Series 2 Jubilee can summon a lot of big bodies and, thanks to Wakanda, doesn't have to fear Shang-Chi.
Series 3 Destroyer
Wakanda is great for Destroyer decks, and this particular Destroyer deck also runs Attuma for an additional over-statted card that loves to be played to a location where it can't be destroyed.
Series 3 Shuri
Attuma is once again featured in this deck, that can make him bigger with a well-placed Shuri, then copy his doubled Power with Taskmaster. Vision is also a good partner for the new, nerfed Shuri.
Series 3 Shenaut
The ultimate deck in using Wakanda to dodge Shang-Chi is one whose win condition heavily favors playing multiple large bodies on turn 7 - thanks to Magik and skipping turn 6, it can play a She-Hulk and The Infinaut wherever they're needed on the final turn.
