Ubisoft Forward concluded earlier today, and we got a number of announcements from the event for their upcoming games. Here's a quick recap of the whole stream.


Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

  • 1st person open-world game.
  • Game begins when the RDA wants to expands it's territories on Pandora.
  • You play a Na'Vi that was taken as a kid and was trained by humans to infiltrate their society.
    • Your character enters cryo-sleep and wakes up 15 years later, when the majority of the game likely takes place.
  • Gameplay-wise, there's a number of standard open-world mechanics, as well as some non-typical ones.
    • You can ride some of the local fauna.
    • You can use both bows and firearms for combat.
    • There will be aerial combat against helicopters and other enemies
    • Crafting elements were shown
    • The game can be played in single-player or in 2-player co-op.
  • Launch date of December 7th, 2023.


X-Defiant

  • 1st person multiplayer game.
  • We were mostly shown clips of streamers playing the game, first impression are apparently positive.
  • Open session between June 21st and 23rd.
  • Roadmap for the first year includes 4 new factions, 12 new weapons and 12 new maps.


Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

  • 2D action-platformer.
  • Semi-open world (possibly metroidvania?).
  • Combat seems to be primarily melee with some ranged and special attacks.
  • Time powers make a return in a number of ways.
  • Launches on January 18th, 2024.


Captain Lazerhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix

  • Anime series on Netflix.
  • A love letter to 90s anime.
  • Despite the name, it features characters inspired by various Ubisoft games.
    • Doesn't seem to be part of any established Ubisoft series, though.
  • Will launch later this year.


Tom Clancy's The Division Resurgence

  • Mobile Tom Clancy game
  • Comes out in Fall


Skull and Bones

  • Neat musical number.
  • No gameplay shown.
  • Closed beta on August 25th to 28th.


Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope

  • Teaser for Rayman as a playable character, coming later this year.


The Crew Motorfest

  • New entry in The Crew series.
  • Will take place in Hawaii.
  • Lots of environments and cars shown.
  • Launches September 14th.


Assassin's Creed

  • Nexus is a VR game coming to Meta Quest 2.
    • You'll be able to play as multiple characters from the whole series.
  • Project Jade is an upcoming mobile game.
    • First open-world game on mobile in the series.
    • Game seems to be set in China.
  • Mirage is the next main installment of the series.
    • The protagonist is named Basim.
    • Takes place in ancient Baghdad.
    • Gameplay-wise, it seems to return to the classic style of gameplay.
    • The eagle companion makes a return, allowing you to survey the area.
    • You'll have access to a variety of items and tools for survey and assassination.
    • Seems like you'll be able to pick your missions, via different notes posted on a board.
    • Chain assassinations are a new mechanic, letting you kill multiple targets at once.
    • Will release on October 12th.


Star Wars: Outlaws

  • Game focuses on a smuggler doing various jobs.
  • You play as Kay Vess and her pet/companion, Nix.
  • Takes place "In a time of civil unrest" (that narrows it down).
    • The official site clarifies that it takes place between episodes V and VI.
  • Varied gameplay, includes stealth, shooting, riding hoverbikes, and piloting spaceships.
  • There's a reputation system, choices you make will affect your relations with other characters.
  • Launches in 2024.
