Hell, it's about time! Blizzard has announced during today's Warcraft 30th Anniversary Direct that we're going into Blizzard's StarCraft universe for the next Hearthstone mini-set!

  • We will see the Zerg, Protoss, and Terran all get cards that display a unique faction banner under the mana cost.
  • Each faction has a hero card that can be played across multiple classes.
    • Kerrigan and the Zerg brings a Zerg Rush-style aggro build for Death Knights, Hunters, Warlocks, and Demon Hunters.
    • Artanis and the Protoss utilizes high cost, high impact minions with psionic mana reduction effects for Druids, Mages, Priests, and Rogues.
    • Jim Raynor and the Terran deploys Battle Cruiser Starships for Warriors, Paladins, and Shamans.

Heroes of Starcraft comes to Hearthstone in January 2025.

  • Mage and Paladin should be switched.

    Maybe Druid and Hunter too.

  • Wished this was an entire expansion instead of just a mini set. There are so many iconic starcraft units in the game that might not be represented in the mini-set but still very excited for this news. Just hoping the Kerrigan hero card has some amazing effect

  • Couldve just made an expansion out of it. Seeing how much a dud the great beyond was, if team5 dont make swift changes the miniset would likely engulf the expansion itself anyway.

The most problematic issue will likely be the pricetag because I cant see a world where it stays at 2k gold or 20 bucks.

Especially considering they've just exchanged a few gold drops with packs on the reward track...

  • Can't wait until I can nuke my opponent as Terran!
