Nintendo's long awaited successor for the Switch 2 is finally here! But what good is a console with no games? This article is going to look into all the games that will be coming out on the Switch 2 for the console, giving you an idea of what you can get to enjoy on launch day.
This article is going to be about new games for Nintendo consoles. It will NOT include games that are already playable on the Switch via backwards compatibility or an upgrade patch. We will mention if the game is available both physically and digitally, the digital price in USD, and whether the full game is on the cart or it's just a key cart. With all that out of the way, let's get into the games!

Mario Kart World
Physical/Digital - $79.99 - Full game
The flagship title for this launch and the biggest title coming directly from Nintendo, Mario Kart World is the biggest MK to date. The game features free-roam for the first time in the series' history, alongside a big stack of characters and a ton of courses to race on.
This game is also available as part of a bundle with the Switch 2, saving you about 30 USD when compared to buying them together, though it's sadly just a download code. Frankly, even if you're not a fan of kart games, this bundle is worth it. The only reason to not get it is if you really want the physical game, which is understandable.
Arcade Archives 2 RIDGE RACER
Digital - $16.99
If Mario Kart isn't your style, there's a few more racing options out there. One of them is Ridge Racer, a classic arcade racing game from Namco. The game is being re-released under the Arcade Archives 2 umbrella, with more games likely to be added later.
Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster
Physical/Digital - $39.99 - Key Cart
A turn-based RPG developed by Silicon Studio and published by Square Enix, that originally launched on the 3DS in 2012. This new remaster offers improved graphics for the Switch 2's significantly more powerful hardware. Kinda odd that this one's a key cart, since the game shouldn't be too big.
Cyberpunk 2077
Physical/Digital - $69.99 - Full Game
The latest and greatest from CD Projekt Red makes its way to hardware that... shouldn't run it, in theory. When the game originally launched on PS4 and Xbox One, it was an optimization nightmare and outright unplayable. And yet, early reviews of the Switch 2 version seem to be very stable. This version also contains the Phantom Liberty expansion, and has the whole game on the cart, unlike others cough Square cough.
Deltarune Chapters 1-4
Digital - $24.99
The seq- uhm, preq- uh, the latest game from Undertale's creator, Toby Fox, sees you join forces with both new and familiar characters as you explore a new world and unravel its mysteries. This version of the game includes all 4 chapters released so far.
Fast Fusion
Digital - $14.99
If you're looking for a racing game way faster than Mario Kart, Fast Fusion is here to pick up the slack. With the same kind of blazing fast gameplay as F-Zero in a new coat of paint, this game is all about achieving ludicrous speeds. The series has been on Nintendo consoles since the Wii era, and the previous entry, Fast RMX, was very well received, so hopefully this one won't disappoint.
GameCube Emulation
Digital - $49.99 per year
The GameCube, despite not doing great financially, is one of the most beloved Nintendo consoles out there. The games on that console will now be playable on the Switch 2. There's a selection of games coming on launch, with more to come in the future.
Hitman World of Assassination
Physical/Digital - $59.99 - Key Cart
Experience IO Interactive's critically acclaimed assassination trilogy, as you pretend to be any person in a given location as you make your way to your target. The only objective is to kill them, it doesn't matter how you achieve it, though keeping civilian casualties to a minimum is recommended.
Kanitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess
Digital - $39.99
A very unique game from Capcom that combines tower defense and action gameplay. You explore villages and rescue their inhabitants during the day, while also setting up various contraptions around town. Once night falls, you and the villages must defend your homes from evil spirits attacking from the gates. Add a gorgeous art-style, and you've got a game unlike any other.
Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma
Physical/Digital - $39.99 - Full Switch game, requires upgrade
The latest entry in the Rune Factory series, Guardians of Azuma sees you bringing the titular region back to its splendor after the Celestial Collapse. The Rune Factory series blends elements of farming, dungeon crawling and life sim to make a unique formula.
Split Fiction
Digital - $49.99
The latest co-op adventure from Josef Fares, creator of GOTY winner It Takes Two, sees you take the roles of two aspiring writers as they are forced to navigate their own stories. Won't say too much, as this is a narrative game, and spoiling the narrative spoils the fun. Keep in mind that, while the game is meant for two players, only one needs to own the game, while the other can play alongside them online.
Street Fighter VI
Physical/Digital - $39.99 - Key Cart
Capcom's latest entry in the street fighting is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. This game pits classic Street Fighter characters against newcomers to the series, while also offering a unique career mode with your own character. The digital version of the game is 39.99, but it doesn't include the fighters released in the first two years of the game. The version that includes those as well goes up to 59.99, and it's also what the "physical" version goes for as well.
Survival Kids
Digital - $49.99
Four kids are stranded on a tropical island. They must survive. Pretty straight-forward. Survival Kids is a co-op survival game that simplifies stuff like crafting and gathering items to make things as streamlined as possible.
Yakuza 0 Director's Cut
Physical/Digital - $39.99 - Key Cart
Witness the origin of Kazuma Kiryu, a member of the infamous Yakuza, as he discovers himself in this world of intrigue and backstabbing. This version of the game will also add an English dub, as well as an online component.
