SEGA Has Confirmed Generative AI In Crazy Taxi: World Tour

One of the most notable announcements from the Xbox Showcase was Crazy Taxi: World Tour, the first non-handheld Crazy Taxi game since 2002 (and it's not the only franchise being revived after a long period of dormancy either).

We've known about the game since it was originally teased during The Game Awards in 2023, but the announcement that happened during the Xbox Showcase was the first sign of either of the games announced at that time being definitively made and shown to us.

The announcement was exciting to fans of the arcade racer, but then people noticed something that SEGA stated on the game's Steam page, confirming that the game has used generative AI.

Quote From SEGA

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

At SEGA Corporation, we utilize generative AI as a support tool for developers, aiming to provide better content to our users and enable developers to focus more on creative tasks.

We have used such generative AI support tools during development of Crazy Taxi: World Tour. No AI was used in reference to the performers in the game.

What do you think? Does the game using generative AI in its development affect whether or not you will buy the game? Let us know in the comments below.
