Riot has rolled out parental control features into League of Legends today, and it's not going to plan for all users. In a personally confirmed case, a Riot account has a birth date associated with it that says the user was born in the year ... 2.

Yup, that's the year 2. Does that mean you need to contact Riot play support via stone tablet and walk it over across the country to their headquarters to file it away with all the other stone tablets that someone may eventually read? Hopefully not!
Parents, if you're looking to manage your child's Riot Account, head on over to the Riot Games Parents Portal.
What we do know though is this is a small inconvenience because it is not possible to chat when you were born in the year 2.

I suppose once you reach a certain age, Riot just assumes you have nothing wise to share anymore. It would have been cool to hear first-hand experience of the events of the past 2024 years, but I guess we'll have to just find somewhere else to talk other than Team or All chat.
Which, if you were born in the year 2, how. old is your parent or guardian? Wild.
Has the Bug Been Fixed?
It does appear that Riot is rolling out a fix to everyone's date of birth, so if you aren't fixed yet, you should hopefully be soon. If your Riot account has the wrong birthday on it still, and it isn't the year 0002, you should probably contact support just to get things squared away.
Where Are Parental Controls Active?
Riot has loaded up parental controls for League of Legends in the United States and Canada. These are completely optional and are also available for VALORANT and Teamfight Tactics as well. With parental controls enabled, parents can:
Turn text and voice chat off
Limit text and voice chat to friends only
Prevent sending or accepting friend requests
View the friends connected to their child's account
Restrict access to specific Riot games
Disable account access entirely
