We've got news on Hearthstone's Hall of Fame additions for Year of the Phoenix! Blizzard is rotating 5 cards from the Classic set out of Standard and into the Hall of Fame.
The additions are some of the most talked-about cards in the game and requested moves to the Hall of Fame. Let's see what they are!
The 2020 Hall of Fame Additions
These cards are all moving to the Hall of Fame.
Arcane Dust and the Hall of Fame Cards
In an upcoming patch on March 26th, and the move of these cards to the Hall of Fame, all players with these cards will receive Arcane Dust equal to their crafting cost (up to the maximum number of each card that can be used in a deck). You may then also disenchant these Hall of Fame cards to receive their disenchant value - extra Arcane Dust!
2020 Hall of Fame Replacements
We do not know which cards are replacing these removals from Standard.

2760 dust for me, have all the cards but none in golden.
I really like the choices for HoF this time around those cards were used way too much, the only surprise here is acolyte of pain but I can understand it.
now if you want a neutral silence you have just Ironbeak Owl huh?
Don’t forget about the priest cards that are being moved to the hall of fame as well.
At the moment I’m looking at 6060 dust in total (was lucky enough to open a golden Velen ages ago). Just taking this chance to craft a few more of the cards I’m missing since I might as well get as much dust as I can. Just missing two epics and 5 rares now
Yay, I can finally craft Leeroy Jenkins. :)
MCT was once my friend, but that was before he stole my Mal'Ganis ... he could have went for an Imp ... could have ...
Just want to double check:
I own Mountain Giants.
I keep them, but I also craft two golds of it. -3200 dust
Hearthstone gives me golden cards value = 3200 dust refund
Dust golden Mountain Giant x2 = 800 profit.
/hey, I have new priest cards, a Raza and a Yogg-Saron to recraft
In this case you would do nothing since you'd get 800 dust for owning two regular Mountain Giants anyway. There is no point in crafting the goldens if you're just going to dust them. You end up with 800 profit either way.
I never realized MCTech was so hated lol. I've only ever found it to be a minor nuisance and was shocked to see it sent to the HoF.
"hates charge" it's not just blizzard leeroy has been a finisher in so many decks, a lot of decks on ladder runs leeroy currently he is the most used classic card with 36% usage in decks, has been forever a problem.
That's a nerf for me. They are making it pointless to keep more copies than can be played. They might as well auto-dust cards.
Not really, cards moving to HoF follow that rules for dust refund as we get to keep the card to play on wild. On the other hand, Cards that are nerf have full refund on multiple copies and we can disenchant as many as we have. This is consistent with previous card changes.
That's how it always worked
Doh I just crafted Leeroy. :X
I mean in the end it just means you get two legendaries for the price of one.
Or just an extra 400 dust. Either way still nice
I'm gonna miss Leeroy from standard but I'm mostly play Wild the last months.
Anyway if you have all cards that are moving to HoF we are receiving 2760 dust right?
Yes, but consider that some Priest cards will rotate as well!
Make sure to craft or unlock them (both regular and golden) before March 26th!
Indeed, i forgot the Priest cards so it's way more than 2,7K dust
Velen i.e. it's just 1,6k a free legendary
I was pretty surprised to hear about Acolyte of Pain and Spellbreaker, but I completely understand. Novice Engineer, Loot Hoarder, and Acolyte of Pain are all evergreen, common or basic, and neutral. This makes it pretty hard to have other good neutral draw options in the future.
And I understand about Spellbreaker completely overshadowing Ironbeak Owl, and how having such an efficient silence tool in the classic set also makes it hard to make good silencers in the future.
Will miss all these card but it's great decision. All of them are evergreens and some fresh air is welcome.
I did not expect that they'd actually do it and HoF Leeroy. Yeah, he's pretty strong, but damn, Aggro is gonna suffer from that.Spellbreaker is also pretty surprising. Mind Control Tech is probably the 2nd most hated Card on that List, People wanted to see this Guy go for quite some Time now.
I wonder what the Replacements will be
Fingers crossed for Whizbang the Wonderful!
Alright, so Leeroy Jenkins finally gets the boot. Will be missing you.
The biggest change has got to be Acolyte of Pain. But given that this card papers over weaknesses of certain classes, I guess its gotta happen at some point. Control decks have been relying on this for draw for ages. This being moved on allows the devs to better design control decks for certain classes.
Mountain Giant moving on should be elementary considering that dhunters and druid cant deal with big minions. Imagine this staring down at dhunters turn 3-4, or after a board clear. A bit sad to see him go, considering that getting mountain giant to work in decks is literally a creative feature in deck building.
