While we've been waiting for the next update to Gran Turismo 7, Polyphony Digital has given us a teaser trailer for a new Vision Gran Turismo car, the RX-Vision GT3 Evo, making its debut at the second round of the 2026 Gran Turismo World Series.
Quote From Polyphony Digital Mazda unveiled the Mazda RX-Vision GT3 Evo in a trailer released Aug. 15 during Round 2 of the 2026 Gran Turismo World Series, held at Polyphony Digital’s Tokyo studio.
The new Gr.3 race car is an evolution of the Mazda RX-Vision GT3 Concept, which was introduced in Gran Turismo Sport in 2020. It was later added to Gran Turismo 7 following the game’s 2022 release and has represented Mazda in World Series competition for the past six years.
Ikuo Maeda, the longtime Mazda design chief who introduced the company’s Kodo design philosophy and created the original RX-Vision, helped guide the development of the GT3 Evo in his role as representative of Mazda Spirit Racing.
“The beauty and presence of the RX-Vision—I absolutely did not want to compromise that,” Maeda said in the video. “On top of that, I wanted to portray its evolution on the track.”
The Mazda RX-Vision GT3 Evo will be added to Gran Turismo 7 later this year.
