At Gamescom 2026, we saw a huge array of massive announcements from big game developers, hyping us up with projects the size of the moon.
There were also two new indie games revealed at the event though, Dust: Origins and Gravhounds.
You'd be forgiven for thinking from the title that this was somehow going to be a sequel to Dust: An Elysian Tale, arguably one of the most well known indie games of the 2010s.
Nope, not even close. Dust: Origins is created by Airship Syndicate, whom you might know as the developers of Darksiders Genesis. What exactly is Dust: Origins? The answer to that question is... We don't know. We know that dust is the origin of something, but we can't tell what that is yet.

What we can tell though is that it's an isometic action, pseudo-horror game about fighting through hordes of abominations. The game is currently in process of raising money on Kickstarter, currently seeking $250,000 USD by September 24. if the trailer looks interesting to you and you want to support the game, you can do so right there.
