At Gamescom 2026, we saw a huge array of massive announcements from big game developers, hyping us up with projects the size of the moon.
There were also two new indie games revealed at the event though, Dust: Origins and Gravhounds.
This one in particular is an important milestone for developer Octopus Panic, as this is their very first game they've got for us. We're witnessing the very beginning of a new studio. Gravhounds is not your average Paw Patrol. It's about humanoid dogs grabbing some armor and guns and going out into the fold.
In Gravhounds, you play as one of a group of mangy mutts as you work together with your canine comrades to gather resources to get back home, and defend your home base from evil abominations, using resources to build defenses and upgrade your machinery.
And you get to play as a dog of course. Can't forget about that part.
