Rockstar Officially Backs NoPixel V With Closed Beta Launching September 8

Rockstar Games is officially throwing its weight behind NoPixel, announcing today that the creator-driven roleplay platform's brand-new project, NoPixel V, will kick off a closed beta on September 8 for invited players via the Rockstar Games Launcher.

This is a big deal for the GTA Roleplay scene, and honestly a bit of a landmark moment for creator-driven experiences built on top of Rockstar's worlds. For years now, roleplay servers have been one of the most vibrant corners of the Grand Theft Auto V community, and Rockstar is now stepping in to formally back one of its most prominent names.

What is NoPixel V?

If you've spent any time watching GTA Roleplay on Twitch or YouTube, NoPixel needs little introduction. Rockstar is highlighting the community's long track record of pushing GTA Roleplay forward through deep character immersion, custom modifications to the GTAV map, and a dedicated community of storytellers.

Rockstar is hey're proud to support a platform that has, in their telling, continually raised the bar for what GTA Roleplay can be:

Quote From Rockstar

For years, we've seen the exciting possibilities and passion that the creator community brings to expand upon the worlds of Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2. GTAV Roleplay is one prominent example of how creators have brought their signature blend of creativity to these experiences and have pioneered new ways to play and watch our games.

How do you get into the closed beta?

Here's the key detail: this is an invite-only closed beta to start. Rockstar confirms that invited players will access the experience through the Rockstar Games Launcher when the beta arrives on September 8.

  • Closed beta start: September 8

  • Access: Invited players only, via the Rockstar Games Launcher

  • Where to watch: Livestreaming platforms from September 8, plus NoPixel's trailer on their YouTube channel

Twitch Drops

Watch your favorite GTA Roleplay streamers play nopixel V on Twitch to earn up to GTA$1,500,000 and the Burger Shot Tracksuit in GTA Online from September 8–30 with Twitch Drops

Why does this matter?

Official Rockstar backing effectively legitimizes creator-driven GTA V experiences in a way we haven't quite seen before, though Rockstar did acquire the major RP mod, FiveM back in 2023. For a scene that's grown organically over years, having the publisher formally in your corner is a meaningful stamp of approval.

We'll be keeping an eye on how the closed beta shakes out. Are you hoping to snag an invite to NoPixel V, or will you be watching the action unfold on stream? Let us know in the comments.
