Quote From tony This site asks users to pay money or donate or whatever. In exchange, it should try to to eliminate the type of unreliable claims its deck sharers put in their posts. This isn't Hearthpwn. Make it not Hearthpwn. Make it worthy of donations by assuring the end user a certain level of credibility.
Here's the deal.
We're a community deck sharing website at the core. If you don't like that, I encourage you to use a site like HSReplay that uses pooled stats or to check out news articles that come out from us which highlight decks that are either fun or have proven records. You aren't the person the deck database is for and won't be unless we're able to collect enough of our own statistically significant data to have sortable winrates.
I don't want to enforce any sort of rules yet on what people can and cannot share at this time. People should be intelligent enough to figure out that decks can't actually have a 100% winrate, just like they should also know that a "Legend" deck doesn't actually mean anything at the end of the day since you can't actually drop out of Legend. Plus, getting super strict about stuff just makes us the bad guy. I'd rather have a bunch of chill people on the site than elitist pricks - the entire Hearthstone game is fueled on a casual audience =).
Also, we're already not HearthPwn.
- We're not a sinking ship;
- We're not run by people that ignore ad problems (no ads atm btw);
- We're not run by tyrannical morons who will do anything to push ads ads ads;
- We have one of the strongest staff teams that I'm crazy proud to be a part of (competency is amazing);
- We actually have plans in place to build tools the community has desired for a long time.
- We've got the support of the community because people actually know who we are.
Sure, we may lack a few features people would like, but those only take some time to build and yet we're on a path they are without a doubt jealous of.
Also, yeah, people should consider a monthly contribution on Patreon. Every dollar helps pay the server bills without resorting to ads and we're constantly making the site a better place to hang out on.
