Site Update Notes - November 7, 2025

Happy Friday!

It's been a few weeks since our last set of update notes and with good reason: there's been a large overhaul to our homepage and some other pages.

We are currently in a transitional time where every part of the website is being rebuilt from scratch for performance gains and modernization. During the transition, you will see some old pages and some new pages but we are pushing new pages every day and going for the heavy hitters to start with.

Today's changelog showcases everything that has been updated this week, which initially we were keeping a bit quiet... other than the fact that everything changed on the homepage. Bugs that were fixed, even for new features, are also being included for the sake of completeness.

Core

Homepage

• A brand new homepage experience is now available.
• Nov 7: Added most recent three feed items.

Notifications

• A fresh coat of paint has been applied to notifications.
  • New functionality to come soon.
• Now when you click on notifications, you will get a quick popup of the most recent ones.
• On your notifications page you can now clear all your notification with a single click.
  • I had 40,000 notifications, and I definitely purged mine some time ago.
• You can now mark notifications as read, unread, and delete them with ease.

Search

• A new and improved search experience is now live.
• Search for articles, guides, and hearthstone cards using our new search bar.
• Our new search feature uses a proper search engine backend to produce lightning fast results.
• Results should no longer become out of sync from data on the website (such as missing articles or hearthstone cards)
• Realm-specific content, such as Hearthstone Cards, will appear at the beginning of the results lists where possible.
• You can change what type of content you want to search for on the dedicated search page.

Sidebar

• Our new primary navigation!
• We will use this to communicate core site features, such as The Feed or Realms and also have easy access to content for our most popular games.

The Feed

• A new experience for browsing realm threads - The Feed.
• The primary feed, labeled Home, is personalized. Join realms that you want to see content for.
  • If you are logged-out, or you have no joined any realms, all content on the website will be in the feed.
• Popular shows non-personalized content that is currently the most active and upvoted.
• New shows non-personalized content that has been most recently added.
• Top shows non-personalized content that has the most number of votes.

Realms

• Thread details now use the new site template.

Performance

General

• JS bundles are now smaller
• Optimized some new PNG images by converting them to WEBP.

Homepage

• Improved caching for a 5ms increase in page opening speed.

Bug Fixes

General

• Fixed the report button having incorrect styling and no functionality.
• Logged-out users should no longer see the notification bar.
• Added missing breadcrumbs.
• Tables now correctly have styles on the new version of the website in all cases.

Comments

• Fixed an issue where nested comments we re missing their indented styles.
