Your notification bell, private message count, and achievement popups now update the moment something happens, without reloading the page.
New notifications and messages pop up as a small toast in the corner. Click it to go straight there.
If a few arrive at once they are grouped into one toast, like "5 new notifications".
With the site open in several tabs, every tab updates its counts, but only the tab you are looking at shows the toast.
Messages never show their contents in a toast, only who it is from and the subject.
Every achievement now has its own badge. Badges show on your profile's Achievements tab, in achievement popups, and on activity pages. Ladder achievements get bronze through diamond frames, so you can tell how far up a ladder you are at a glance.
Sharing a member profile on Discord or social media now shows that member's avatar in the preview card.
Finishing an activity (word searches, trivia, crosswords, word ladders, picross, memory match, and more) now drops a few raw materials into your Sidequest bag, for your first 5 activities each day.
Sidequest
Sidequest got a huge update: resource node finds on site pages, a new Marketplace selling page, gear comparison tooltips, Favourites, Gear Sets, boss kill rings and trophies, boss countdowns, and big changes to the Sidequest World. Check out the full Sidequest update in the Sidequest realm.
Comments
Comment sections are live.
A line above the comments shows how many people are reading and how many are writing a comment right now.
New comments from other members slip into the page as they are posted, without a reload.
Replies now land in the right place. When you reply to someone, your reply shows up nested under their comment, at the same depth it has after a reload. It used to show up one level too high, and other people watching the page saw it at the bottom of the section.
Editing a comment now shows your new text straight away, with an "(edited)" marker. It used to show the old version for up to 10 minutes, even after a reload.
Achievements
There is a new Sidequest achievement category. Shopkeeper, Suited Up, and the shop sales achievements (Open for Business, Regular Customers, and Merchant Prince) moved there from Oozefest, since they are about Sidequest and not just this event.
The Card Design Competition achievements (Intro to Card Design, Finalist CDC, and CDC Winner) are now Feats of Strength. We do not intend to run more card design competitions at this time.
Members who opened their shop before the Shopkeeper achievement existed now have it, dated to the day they opened their shop.
News
Article pages now show the realm header for the game they are about, with the realm's tabs, so you can get to that game's discussion, news, and guides in one click.
Articles about one game show that game's realm.
Articles about several games (or none) that are tagged Xbox, PlayStation, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, or Nintendo Switch 2 show that platform's realm.
Tag pages show their articles again, and the Reviews link on the homepage finds every game review.
Hearthstone
The "You:" dust on a deck is now worked out from your own collection, and it counts your Diamond and Signature cards. It could show the wrong number before.
Decks are marked Standard or Wild using the current Standard rotation whenever they are saved. We had a lot of out of date decks.
Accounts & Security
Changing your email address now asks for your current password, and the change only goes through once you confirm it from the new address.
We fixed a big batch of security issues across comments, private messages, decks, polls, shops, and accounts. Nothing for you to do, the site is just safer.
Bug Fixes
Avatar borders were missing in the shop and on member profiles, along with some seasonal and TCG artwork. They show again.
