  • Insta 5 star card. Warlock + Mana Cheat = Broken Game. Warlock abuses Mana cheat the hardest of any class in the game because of their great and consistant draw, and i'm sure Runed Mithril Rod could have some.... "big implications in wild", where warlock always manages to break the game when they get any kind of mana cheat. In standard it's really good, mana cheat is just so strong.

  • Excited to see what combos the community comes up with for this one! Backfire just got a whole lot better!

Broken card, warlock have tons of ways to draw a massive amount of cards, there will be an otkish combo for sure with that card.

  • Its probably not as good as most people would think it is.

The cost reduction is insane. The method of which this is gained is not. Firstly you need to drop 3 mana do nothing for a turn. Then you need to actually manage 4 card draw, which in standard is not really easy to do. Then this would have to dodge weapon tech, and since Rustrot Viper is an actual insane card this will simply never see the light of day.

At very best you play this on turn 7, draw 3 with Backfire and complete the circle with a tradable card or just plain hp on 8. In nearly all scenarios, it sucks.

But of course, team5 often dont print cards for nothing so there might be something around the lines of like 2 mana draw 4, discard 2. Maybe, just maybe this card can justify its weight then. But until there is a reliable and cheap way to draw cards for warlock, this card is just a maybe at best, trash at worst.

  • This seems easy enough to pull off in one turn that it could work as a cheaper Thaurissan prock. Could make for some fun combos but only if you can play it and prock it right away. That new snake is going to be everywhere.

  • Warlock's version of Efficient Octo-bot, and all it requires is the thing that Warlocks naturally do. The only time I don't see this being run is Zoolock.

The only tricky part will dodging the inevitable Rust-rot Vipers and Acidic Swamp Oozes.

  • Good One. Pretty easy to pull off with Warlock - so i guess Weapon Removal has to be played the upcoming meta :)

  • I guess MarkMcKz will love this card! Up to 4 additional Thaurrisian procs for him and his expensive combos.

In Standard can be strong, too. It's nice that it synergizes perfectly with the big hand size you'll have when it procs. And you want many cards reduced.

  • Seems way to unreliable, and also kind of pointless. The best way to activate this is through Backfire, but even that feels kind of unlikely...and at the end of the day, what do you achieve? Warlock doesn't have any sick combos (yet) and even if they did they already have trouble staying alive against anything that isn't Priest

  • Plot Twist... suck it Emperor Thaurissan

  • This is really good! Super easy to activate, and you get 2x Emperor Thaurissan discounts. Imagine Warlocks running Captain Greenskin just to get more cost reductions!

  • There is so much more draw these last two expansions, this will often hit handsizes of 7+ cards.

  • Oh, what am I doing giving this only 3 stars? You already know someone will find a way to equip this, draw 8 cards using Plot Twist or Hemet, Jungle Hunter, and find lethal all the way from 30 in a single turn. Let's hope that deck will be difficult to pilot, otherwise this might just be the new Stealer of Souls.

  • So all I have to do is draw 8 cards to get full usage out of this? Warlock is known for drawing a lot, so that seems easy enough.

    • and now there is even Rustrot Viper, so yeah, it wil mostly depend on the meta.

  • Very interesting weapon designed only for handlock/control lock. The bigger the hand size, the more mana cheating possible. I like this weapon a lot!

  • Feels like an auto include in Soul Fragment Warlock, as the Fragment draw should count as extra fuel for the card. Just be happy that deck is really bad right now, as cards like Lord Jaraxxus or reddit's favourite nemesis Tickatus are just examples of cards that really enjoy their discounts.

  • Mana cheating is always good. Drawing 4 cards is a little inconvenient since even if you use your hero power every turn it will still take 4 turns to get both discounts, and if you are trying to pull off an OTK waiting 4 turns is too long.

However, if you are playing a regular control warlock and using this just for raw value then the wait isn't so bad, and you can always use soul fragments to speed up the process.

  • This feels like a bust or boom kind of card. Drawing four cards doesn't happen consistently until mid to late game. If you are running this for some combo enabler you would probably have your cards, or at least most of them, by that time. But, you still need to have the draw engine. It just feels a little clunky.

  • This could be really good in the right deck. If I open the new quest, I will try this with the quest and Neeru.

  • 5 stars because Blizzard never learns with cost reduction, and the requirment is very easy for Warlock

  • I like this because of combo wombo potential

  • Again, Warlock naturally draws cards plus your soul shards count as double draw. Very good in control decks.

    4 stars

    • I like how they introduced new powerful weapons that must be removed, and also some breath of fresh air in the weapon removal department

  • Mana cheat is always good, this card might make control warlock a force to be reckoned with again.

  • So many enabled combos.

  • It's a magnificent tool for Plot Twist Warlock, with a hand full this easily discounts for at least 2 your entire hand in 1 turn.

  • Incredible in wild with plot twist... Will also work in standar though. And that banned card could see more lay on standar with this.

  • Only really viable with Plot Twist and still too slow IMO.

  • Cheat a little mana for a lot of work. Hey, warlock. Psst. You and Demon Hunter draw cards. Yeah, just keep drawing. OK. Ya good? Now you're dead.

  • can lead to interesting mechanic

  • It can enable some very crazy combo and otk decks, the cost reduction is very important right now and can turn the tide in a crazy way

  • Nothing too crazy. The effect is nice, but requires a bit of effort to set it up. Doubt it'll be worth running

  • Don't even have to do anything to get the effect, just set and forget. Sounds incredible to me!
