What is Enlightened in Legends of Runeterra?

Legends of Runeterra has many card effects that are common enough that they get their own keyword - a word or two that immediately tells you how the card works. Let's take a look at the Enlightened keyword.

You're Enlightened when you have 10 max mana.

Enlightened is merely a state of mind.

Breathe slowly, remain calm, and watch as your Mana pool grows each and every round. Eventually you'll have 10 Mana gems total, and voila! You're Enlightened. Easier than going on a meditation retreat.

Keywords that Work Great with Enlightened

While no one Keyword works directly with Enlightened, having 10 Mana opens up your play options significantly. Slow spells in particular are generally expensive, in exchange for a powerful effect; being Enlightened will give you the Mana you need to play these spells and more.

Playing Against Enlightened in Legends of Runeterra

The only way to stop Enlightened is to end the game before you get there. Everyone gains Mana each round, regardless of what you do; win fast or die hard!

Anivia's level up requires her to be Enlightened (much like Karma does). It also plays into her special revive mechanic, wherein Eggnivia transforms back into Anivia at the start of your Enlightened round (and every round thereafter, if you can keep it alive). Keep the winter storm going as long as possible!

Catalyst of Aeons is not an Enlightened card per se, but it does help you get there faster. The Nexus heal is a nice addition for what is otherwise essentially a 5-mana "do nothing".

Insight of Ages is a value-generator, and one of the rare instances of RNG in Runeterra. It also happens to be Karma's special card: when you go to play a Karma while one is on your table already, you'll be given Karma's Insight of Ages instead. It's all going to come down to what you generate, so how lucky do you feel?

Emerald Awakener as a 3/2/2 with Lifesteal is okay on its own, but after you are Enlightened it becomes a 6/6 instead. That's tremendous value for a 3-mana unit! The Lifesteal will help you drag the game out in your favor, making for a solid Control card.
