Darkness decks are really bad at dealing with what we call graveyard recursion in magic the gathering.

Basically they spend mana and tempo removing your Champs, and creatures and you just bring them back for no cost and large tempo swings.

Statistically Aniva is performing very well win rate wise according to mobalytics and I wouldnt be surprised if it's because she feeds well on darkness decks.
