Freljord = Highest Win Rate On Ladder

So Freljord as a region in present in 3 of the tier 1 lists of the meta.

This gives it the top win rate of all the regions on mobalytics

It's hanging around 60 percent in the best decks

 

- It has the best buffs, fury of the north, elixir of iron

- Frostbite is strong, it counters other midrange lists

- Sejuani is the number 1 champ

- Deck buffing is strong with omen hawk being the best example

- It has good teck options in a tournament setting

    • Freljord was being held back by the oppressive super aggressive aggro decks in the last meta. Freljord as a whole does poorly against aggro. They only have one heal that's tied to a 4 cost hero and all of its good tools don't really start coming online till mid game. Turn 5 or 6 which is when most aggro decks are one more hit away from the win if they haven't won already.

      But with the aggro decks taken down a notch Freljord can have its time in the sun since they excell at shutting down mid range and late game decks with all their slows and constant 5+ power unites.

    • nifty is so arrogant, always trying to sell himself as the almighty card game pro that knew freljord was best region{spoiler it ISNT} before everyone else, people dont need a reason to downvote him anymore.

  • I had come out relatively early and called this meta shift. There was a rather substantial outcry, so its easier to down vote than accept that sometimes the unpopular oppinion, well thought out, is the correct one.

  • Tier 1 Decks with "Frejord"
    Kinkou Elusives - Ionia with a (7 card splash of Frejord) - Hardly a "frejord" deck, but gets the advantage of a high winrate. 0 frostbite
    Endure - Shadow Isles with an (11 card splash of Frejord) - A strong deck that frejord supports. 0 frostbite
    Yoink Sej - Blidgewater with a (9 card splash of Frejord) - Strong deck with few Frejord tools. Sej is the only form of frostbite.

    The best cards for Frejord are:

    Omen Hawk
    Fury of the North
    Avarosan Sentry
    Elixir of Iron
    They Who Endure
    Sejuani

    Not on the List but... Starlite Seer is strong.

    The problem with all these cards is they are support cards with the exception of Sej and They Who Endure. These are the closing threats, but they do not make the region overpowered.

    P&Z imo is the strongest region. Multiple champions are strong. Ez while down is not out. Vi, Heim, Teemo are all playable in tier 1 decks. The champion in the group Jinx is still a decent deck, but awful. This region can play fast aggro or control.

    That's how the scientific method works, you provide a hypothesis and through experimentation you determine your results.

    Although I could just knee jerk baby rage as an alternative I suppose, the only problem with that is I would be wrong.

  • Nifty, if you are going to start a thread with the sole purpose being to prove to everybody that you were right about something, then expect people to downvote you. It doesn't matter who was right or wrong, saying "I was right see? Even though everybody doubted me, I am still smarter than all of you" isn't a great way to become popular.

  • What was your exact hypothesis? If you are talking about scientific methods, then you work on proving a single hypothesis.

    • Freljord is the best region in the game
    • Freljord will be present in the meta
    • Freljord is strong in a midrange meta
    • Freljord can support other regions very well

    As for occurrence, based on mobalytics, Freljord has a place in 5 decks in Tier S to A. So does Ionia, Noxus and Bilgewater. As for the 5 Freljord decks only one deck used Frostbite cards other than Sejuanis effect - and is that why you state frostbite is strong? In that case your conclusion must be that AoE Frostbite is strong when it's cheap to tricker (Winter’s breath is not a card that sees much play) as there is only 1 list that uses actual frostbite cards. 

    Also, most of Tier A-S decks use a select group of Freljord card while the other regions (Bilgewater, Noxus etc.) composes most of the deck. So, it seems the conclusion rather is: "A pool of Freljord cards has strong synergy with a midrange deck type because it allows for favorable trades."  

    I do not know the history of your previous statements and what answers you got. It just seems to me that you rushed your conclusion to prove you were right. If you want to use the "scientific hypothesis" argument then you must provide a clear hypothesis, arguments and results to support it. 

  • The purpose of my posts has, and always will be to inform others about the state of the game.

     

    But you can't expect me not to respond to inflammatory nonsense that is ill informed and most of all wrong.

     

    I provided a link to prove my statements as I always do, it's a podcast discussing the game with a timestamp of the relevant part of the video.

  • I am starting to lose all respect on Mobalytics data.

    That list is so random... lets start there are 2 VERY STRONG decks missing: Teemo buff and Lee/Vi.
    I play against those 2 decks ALL THE TIME on ladder but both are not even in their radar.
    I disagree with their power rank order entirely as well. 

    Midrange frostbite (Ashe/Sejuani) is a deck that is just as strong now as the old Ashe deck was before Bilgwaters.
    In fact, they only added Sejuani to the fold and puff, Tier A. Seems like they decided Sejuani is broken and every deck who runs has to be in their tier list.

    Also Heimer/Lux + Unyielding Spirit as Tier A???
    This is a fun deck i play on casual myself and i barely can win 50% of my games there.

  • If we can't create a baseline for data that we respect, than all we have is oppinion and speculation.

     

    Like I could say that I think Vlad Frej is a good deck but that doesn't mean its top tier based on the data. It has a tier 2 win rate at high ranks.

    Good job on making your post formatted normally and without centered text! I think you’re on the right track towards making your posts sound less righteous and annoying. However, at this point people are so used to you going “I told you so” about Freljord being strong that even though your original post in this thread is fine, people still view it as an “I told you so” without you explicitly mentioning it. Also, your follow up posts do have more of a tone of superiority, so that’s still something you need to work on.

    At this point, I think you just need to give up on claiming that Freljord is the best region. Even if you’re right, people will still be annoyed that you brought it up because they’ll see it as an “I told you so” instead of a genuine analysis and conversation. If you want to post more about what how you think the meta is changing you can, but be warned that if you focus too much on how you were right and everyone else was stupid, people will continue to downvote you.
