Sidequest Update - October 19, 2026

Sir Hollowmere

  • The fourth Oozefest boss, Sir Hollowmere, arrives on Tuesday, October 20 at 12:00 AM Eastern and stays until the end of Sunday, October 25.

  • He has 250,000 health. Bring food.

  • Everyone who lands a hit on him gets his kill ring, Hollowmere's Oathring (Epic, item level 66, with Health, Armor, Critical Chance, and Haste), when he falls.

  • Find him on the Oozefest bosses page.

  • Please note that this fight is going to be different. There are things to learn, there is knowledge to share. I'm giving everyone a warning about this ahead of time so you think. Sidequest is a game that is about community and it is important that everyone contributes their findings to establish the truths of the game when they aren't immediately obvious. The sidequest Realm is a great place to start new threads to talk about different aspects of the game. As the gamemaster of Sidequest, I will at times try to lead everyone in the right direction, but a fun part about games is discovering things. Welcome to discovery!

Battle Stew

  • You can now eat a Battle Stew twice a day, for two bonus boss swings instead of one. With the bonus swing from finishing Today's Challenges, that's up to three bonus swings a day.

  • Battle Stew now heals you to full health.

  • Three new recipes cook the same Battle Stew, so you're not stuck waiting on Candy Corn Cod. All three are Cooking level 1:

    • Battle Stew: Pumpkin Perch - 1 Pumpkin Perch, 1 Embershroom, 2 Blackberry.

    • Battle Stew: Herring and Truffle - 1 Harvest Herring, 1 Oaken Truffle, 2 Prickle Pair.

    • Battle Stew: Hunter's Kettle - 2 Game Meat, 1 Oaken Truffle, 1 Salt Crystal. No fish needed.

  • The original recipe (1 Candy Corn Cod, 1 Embershroom, 2 Blackberry) still works too.

Food

  • Food can now restore up to 300 Energy a day, up from 100.

Workshops

  • Every gear recipe now shows what it can roll before you craft it:

    • Always has: the Armor and core stat every piece gets. Jewelry shows the core stat bonus it picks at random.

    • Your odds: your chance at each rarity, using your own Craftsmanship, and how many extra stats each rarity rolls.

    • Extra stats it can roll, with the range for each. Pieces that favour certain stats split them into More likely and Also possible.

  • Gear recipes also compare against what you're wearing in that slot. Each stat shows green if it's at least as good however it rolls, red if it's worse however it rolls, and gold if it depends on the roll.

    • Rings and trinkets compare against your weaker one, or tell you when you have an empty slot.

    • If your class can't wear it, it says so, so you know it's one to sell or trade.

    • If you have more than one gear set, it compares against the set you're wearing now.

  • After you craft a piece of gear, the result window shows the same compare for the piece you actually rolled. Its buttons wrap properly on phones now too.

The World

  • Fog now fully hides what's under it, with drifting pixel mist and soft dithered edges where it meets open ground. It stays still if your device is set to reduce motion.

  • The World camera is zoomed in a little closer.
