Well, this card is ... beyond insane.

Well it looks slow at first, but most mage Decks (at least right now) not the fast ones and more midrange/control.
8 Health is also hard to remove for most classes so i would say this card is good! In combination with cheap spells this could be realy bonkers.
Challenge me ... when you're ready to duel a god!
Good stats but very slow. Good combo potential, could be interesting in cyclone-style decks.
This card is just nuts. In aggro matches just play this massive 3/8, and if you don't belly up you're likely to win the next turn if this sticks.
In other matches, just keep everything in hand, drop this + Sorcerer's Apprentice and go to town with cheap spells. Reload with Evocation or Mana Cyclone if needed.
This card looks really good, but compared to flamewalker I'm not actually sure how pushed this is when it isn't being used in an OTK.
It might not make it into quest mage, but this probably enables a good number of thaurissan-less OTKs with the right hand of cheap spells.
This post is discussing the wild format.
With a dedicated deck will be insane ...
I am 69 years old and still reach Legend
Looks really scary, too expensive in my opinion to be that big of a problem though. Plenty of options to kill things by turn 5 too, so it usually wouldn’t stick
Who needs consistency when you could have fun?
I'm gonna evaluate it low, but it has potential.
Obviously you run a small spell deck with Apprentice and as much draw as you can reasonably muster (perhaps the return of Elemental Allies?).
The real problem is what do you do with said spellpower at the end of the day? If you play this with Apprentice you have at best 3-mana left...and Mage only has 2 damaging spells that fit into that slot: Fireball and Frostbolt.
So even if a dedicated combo deck would work, the most you can do would be: This + 2x Apprentice using 4 cheap spells (with double Frostbolt in hand) and then using Mana Cyclone to get some more for let's say approximately +5-6 spell damage on average (in a 10-card combo) which doesn't kill anything.
At 5-mana it's also difficult to combo with boardclears so that fallss through as well (Arcane Explosion already had that kind of support and still saw no play at all).
So at the end of the day this is a win condition for a really weak and RNG dependant deck. Mage doesn't even have enough draw to make it work.
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
Vanilla stats with a defensive bent, and a crazy snowball effect. Mozaki looks like a solid win condition for any Spell Cyclone deck.
+ spell damage was never a thing (except the old freeze mage back in the days). This card needs a lot of support and kinda time on board to shine. I am not conviced it will have it late game (even with 8hp). But I like the flavor and I hope someone tries and make this one work.

Very defensily statted, won't be taken out by single spells. Could make an OTK-deck possible.
It looks like a good finisher for Cyclone mage.
I hope no ridiculous OTK deck gets discovered because it would be a shame for such a cool card to get nerfed.
Wild Quest Mage just got even more broken. Cool. Pls cap Sorcerer's Apprentice reduction to "no less than 1 mana". And do the same with Mechwarper , while we at it.
This deck is cool. Play it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Super snowballey if she can start getting off, I could see this being run as a soft taunt/ build your own Malygos. Since mage can possibly barf up 10 spells or something in a turn with their cost reduction, evocation, etc I think this could be powerful.
Self proclaimed good at battlegrounds
In wild it is possible to play an entire hand full of spells twice in one turn for very little mana, so it is entirely possible that you could get Spell Damage +5 or better the turn you player her. At that point though you could just as easily play Time Warp and get an extra turn, so I don't imagine she will make much of a splash in wild. I can't say much for standard.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
At least if has high HP for its value.
Wow! Talk about small spell combo material! I just know this is going to become a key part of decks like OTK mage that like to cast a lot of spells in one turn.
Official Lorekeeper and Spinner of Tavern Tales
The effect is fantastic, but it'll be insta-removed by any deck that has the means. Granted, 8 Health is quite sturdy. I'm not good enough to see an OTK combo just yet, but I'm sure there's one in Wild that'll have this nerfed in no time.
Started playing HS in May, 2015. The bad news: I missed the excitement of 'Naxx out?' and GvG. The good news: I never met an Undertaker.
This card is deceptively strong, because the spell you cast with her on board will automatically have spell power + 1 !
This means that arcane missiles will shoot at least 4, Ray of Frost will do 4 damage to a minion that's frozen, Arcane Breath deals at least 3, etc.
Mage also has ways to discount spells with the Sorcerer's Apprentice and Incanter's flow, which can make the cheapest spells free and the medium cost spells to be cheap, so I think running cards like fireball or Rolling Fireball with this lady isn't completely unviable.
That said, like some players have already pointed out, this cards weakness is not the lack of damaging spells in a Mage deck, but the lack of draw available in standard.
In wild Mage still has Stargazer Luna along with a plethora of cheap spells that would help keep this machine running, but standard does not have a substitute for that outside of good old Gadgetzan Auctioneer or Elemental Allies (which requires a specific deck build) so far.
There's always the option to refill your hand with spells from Cyclone or Evocation but more often than not they're too expensive to fire them all.
I do see this card being partnered up with violet spellwing for some easy and cheap spelldamage gain, however.
Statwise, it's insane, as it is very tanky yet has enough attack to be a threat on a Minion vs Minion Board fight. Also shows the difference between just one stat, especially when compared to Malygos, Aspect of Magic.
It's effect is also powerful in the sense it can snowball really fast and really hard.
However, and this is a very tough call to make, this card won't shine that much unless tempo mage is revived (though that deck can revive on the wieght of this card alone). That, or you get one from Font of Power, as the spell mage deck runs a lot of small spells already. Plus, Combustion fits really well on that deck.
Rating cards on coolness factor rather than predicting power because I like screwing up rating averages (and because I suck at predicting real power levels, but we'll ignore that LUL)
Wins per class (2/6/22): DH-197; Druid-996; Hunter-91«60; Mage-1056; Paladin-1126; Priest-746; Rogue-961; Shaman-1095; Warlock-871; Warrior-906
This card looks SCARY. HUGE stats for only 5 mana, even higher than the DoD malygos. This card seems like a burn mage card. They have given burn mage plenty of support, but it never took off before. But i feel like this card will finally make it viable. Burn mages problem was the lack of finishers, outside of antonidas and that DOD elemental that summons 5/5s. But with another finisher (this new card), you might actually draw a wincon sooner. This card will see plenty of play. There is hardly no reason to not include it.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
Don't think it's a big problem in wild, quest is too powerful as it is to use a "slow" card like this. Standard however is different, but it's hard to say. You need a LOT of spells if you're going for a full 20-30 damage OTK.
Now this is a card that everyone has made on HearthCards at least one time. I know I have.
And now that it's finally in the game, and I want it to work at least a little bit. The effect seems like it can definitely snowball very quickly with spell generation and cost reduction by your aid. I definitely think an OTK with this card can definitely work.
Interesting sub-note is that you can generate it from Apexis Blast if you're playing Spell Mage where all of your cards are spells, and... you see where I'm going with this, right?
I don't know a ton about Miracle Mage outside of that I hate getting OTKed by it, so this card makes me sad. Mage has access to many cheap and cycling spells to act as fodder for building this up, and then finishing with a huge Frostbolt or Arcane Missiles, which I am not looking forward to.
Looks too expensive at first, and then you remember how many cheap spells mage has, and Sorcerer's Apprentice still existing, and then you question what the fuck Team 5 is smoking.
I think this is being overrated. It requires a lot of setup for it to be effective, and it doesn't impact the board when played (not effective when played on curve). I am frankly disappointed that Mage is getting another meh legendary.
A puzzle box? What does it say? ... Yogi-Saffron something... sure, let's open it, what is the worst that could happen?
This will be pretty good I think. Maybe run this in wild with an apprentice, play some cheap spells then jam the old Frostbolt/Ice Lance to face.

Geeez ... 8 Health is sticky for a mage minion that can be deployed reasonably early
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
Might as well, while we at it ^^
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
I don't like too much. 8 Health is a lot for sure and we can aspect that will survive few turns... but unless you have a deck like "cyclon mage" you will not use 4 spell or more in a turn. Right now i prefer Azure Explorer over this card, but Mozaki, Master Duelist can have some potential in the right deck
It might see play with some busted Sorcerer's Apprentice combos, but I don't see a place for it in current mage decks and I don't see it being strong enough to carry a new deck type on its own.
Isn't this is kinda slow.. but the stats better than Malygos so maybe she'll survive the summoning turn. The effect seems juicy, though
I hope this Card finally pushes Sorcerer's Apprentice over the Edge and leads to a Nerf.
Mage has enough 1 Mana Spells to play this and Sorcerer's Apprentice on T7 and just go off. Like, Magic Trick, Ray of Frost and Arcane Missiles are more than enough for a decent Swing.

Really slow to be useful... maybe with Open the Waygate is managable
This will not be fun in wild....
Lemushki - The one and only since the 2006 rebranding.
Gonna love getting this off of Apexis Blast and Jandice Barov.
build your own malygos? it has a lot of hp so it might be too hard to remove as well as gain a lot of spell damage.
but that's the optimistic line, I think it's too expensive to actually use.
ya mon he died in one turn and i didn't even touch him mon
Casino kage card?

Pays off in spell heavy decks that like to rapid fire their way to victory.
Can work as a finnisher with Sorcerer's Apprentice.
I like It.
By The Holy Light!
I don't think Mage has the tools right now to make this card work in some sort of tempo deck.
The health makes it able to survive for at least 1 turn and mage being able to use so many 1 cost spells makes it easy to stack for amazing combos
All hail the banshee queen.
Ow. Ow. OW. OW! OW!!!!!
STOP HITTING ME WITH YOUR SPELLS!!!!
I like the idea, but I don't think this card is actually going to consistent enough to pull off some kind of huge spell damage combo for lethal.
I want this card to work, but it feels like Chenvaala to me--a lot of hype, but little payoff in practice.
Nevertheless, it's an exciting card that I look forward to trying out.
One more OTK card... Really OP.
I think this set is Sorcerer's Apprentice last one. Too many cards pointing towards an APM wombo-combo Mage, all grounded on the lil fellow. The "fair" use for [Hearthstone Card (Mozaki Master Duelist) Not Found] would be some Arcane Missiles into Frostbolt into something else. Nah, lets just abuse the crap out of it.
I'm torn on this card, because it seemed really good at first glance, but thinking about it awhile, it seems like it might be slow. This is a card, I will look out for in future expansions, maybe not now.
I think Mozaki, Master Duelist will prove to be clunky as she demands 5 mana and multiple small spells and damaging spells within a relatively small timeframe. On 10 mana, you'd only have 5 mana to do anything after played Mozaki, and if you play her on turn 5 and she sticks around, you'd have 6 mana and a limited hand based on how early in the game it is to follow up Mozaki. For Mozaki to really work, you need to discount her, and the only way Mage can do that in standard is Jepetto Joybuzz, which is an inconsistent method to do so.
For glory, honor, and gold!
Mozaki, Master Duelist, Sorcerer's Apprentice, Ras Frostwhisper and Potion of Illusion will enable some Exodia combo, if piloted in a good way
Arcane missiles to victory.
Thanks to denial, I'm immortal.
This will either be part of a really disgusting combo, something that warps the meta so that every deck is ready to remove an 8 health minion on turn 5, or disappear after the first week, and I'm not sure which. I don't think it will make it in standard.
Quest Mage in wild has proven that for 5 mana you can easily cast 5+ spells, so potentially a 10 mana combo, using cards like Primordial Glyph and Magic Trick to boost the spell damage, is a possibility, but it won't be quicker or easier than the current quest mage.
I've played some Spell Damage Burn Mages on alt accounts and they've mostly been sub par to okay. I think some of the Spell Damage support this set could make for a really strong Spell Damage deck.
Quick! Someone give me something clever to write here.
Stock up on zero cost spells. Then unleash the 1 cost damage spells.
This is one of those cards Blizzard needs to be wary of when designing new cards for future expansions. It's possible there's already an OTK available in standard, and with Evocation this card will be nuts.
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
More Spell Damage synergy, and a good one at it. Perhaps Spell Damage Mage will be a Tier 1 deck this expansion.
I'm really not convinced on this one. I can see how it's meant to work, but I just don't know that it'll be worth anything outside of a straight combo deck, in which something more reliable like Malygos feels better to me.
