Legends of Runeterra's Live Design Lead, Steve Rubin, has confirmed we're getting some changes to Petty Officer and the realm of Taric cards.
These changes are currently unknown and we'll get to learn about their details in two weeks time as they are a part of the 1.11 patch. The upcoming 1.10 patch, which releases this week, also has balance changes that have been outlined in its set of patch notes today. What changes do you think they'll make to Taric's gang? Can you guess the adjustments for Petty Officer?
Quote From Steve Rubin But yes, patch 1.11 in two weeks has adjustments to Petty Officer.
It also will contain significant buffs to some of Taric's followers and spells.

Honestly, I think a simple +1/+1 to Taric's body stats would do a world of good, but I wouldn't mind seeing a little more spice in his level-one support ability. SpellShield this round instead of Tough? SpellShield this round AND Tough? The level-two version is perfect as is. Sojourner is already crazy good, but I think Tyari the Traveler could use a little help, maybe create a Gem when it supports?
As for Targon spells, maybe dropping the mana cost of Blessing of Targon to 4? Dropping the mana cost of Gem to 0, or leaving the mana cost alone but making it grant +1/+1 instead of healing?
For Petty Officer, they seem to be pushing a more Bilgewater-heavy aggro archetype these days, so maybe they want to restrict the summon to Bilgewater. Or just make it kegs only -- I'd be fine with that. I don't like the way people have been using this card as a general-purpose board flooder.
I wonder if Petty Officer will change to just summoning a Keg?
No idea what they could be thinking for Taric.
It would be a little sad after Jagged Taskmaster's buff
More likely: change him from a 3/2 to a 2/2. That way the total stats between both bodies is more in line with other 3-drops.
He's used almost exclusive for the random 1-drop. If he could only summon kegs, he'd become a worse version of Dreadway Deckhand -- and already most players don't run that card.
Seems like a pretty good guess for Petty Officer. My guess is that Taric is leveling up too easily and they'll change or increase his level up requirements. I think that having his level up be "i've seen allies get targeted or supported" is too flexible and they'll make it "I've seen X allies get targeted by friendly spells". or maybe something more unique. I'd like to see them come up with more unique ways for level ups to occur to be honest. I know that might require additional mechanics, but as it is I feel like they've already painted themselves into a corner.
Unless I'm mistaken the quote from Riot above says they are intending to buff Taric stuff.
Ah, you're right. I misread that 2nd part entirely.
