The K/DA All Out event has begun in Legends of Runeterra!
- The event is taking place over the next 27 days.
- There is a free event pass available to everyone with 6 new cards.
- A paid event pass has more cosmetics including several card backs, icons, emotes, and guardians. You collect hearts to progress in the pass.
- The event runs from October 28 at 10 AM PT to November 24 at 11 AM PT.
New Cards
Five new cards have been added to the game and can be unlocked be completing the free portion of the event path.
After the event is over, these cards can be crafted through Wild Cards, Shards, or be found in Chests like other collectible cards.
New Lab: Star Power
K/DA takes center stage in a brand new kind of Lab: Star Power. This Lab will be live for the usual two weeks, but will change its tune after the first. Here’s how it works:
- During week one, choose one of 5 preconstructed decks, each centered on one of the new K/DA spell cards. Each deck comes with a unique “always-on” passive ability that complements the featured spell.
- During week two, constructed unlocks! You’ll be able to choose from those preconstructed lineups, or bring your own playlist. Pair any of the passive abilities you want with the perfect deck to make it really sing!
K/DA Event Quests
Quote From Riot Five pairs of Epic Quests (ten total) will progressively unlock as you continue playing. The first quest will reward you with Hearts, while the second will also unlock icons for each member of K/DA.
Along with these Epic Quests, there are also a series of nine Event Quests which appear in the Event tab. These quests unlock in a sequence and earn you more Hearts to progress along the path. We’ve designed these quests to be flexible, so you can play like you would normally… or you can take a more daring option if you feel like mixing things up.
Overall, the changes mean that if you do all quests, you’ll make more progress than before; if you miss a day, you’ll lose less progress than before; and now AI games are worth something.
The K/DA Event Pass
You can upgrade the base pass, which includes 5 collectible cards, to one that has plenty of K/DA cosmetics! The pass upgrade costs 975 coins.
- Win games and complete quests to earn Hearts, progress along the event path, and unlock exclusive K/DA ALL OUT rewards!
- Five pairs of Epic Quests (ten total) will progressively unlock as you continue playing. The first quest will reward you with Hearts, while the second will also unlock icons for each member of K/DA.
K/DA Event FAQ
Quote From Riot How long is the event?
The event runs from October 28 at 10 AM PT to November 24 at 11 AM PT.
Will the K/DA items ever come back?
The K/DA spells are sticking around—they’ll show up in rewards and be purchasable like any other card, starting after the event.
The K/DA cosmetics from the event rewards could return one day, but we have no plan to bring them back any time soon. Basically, the K/DA items are exclusive to this event and only available for a limited time, so if something (or many somethings) catches your eye, make sure to unlock them before they disappear on November 24!
Which games count toward completing quests and earning Hearts?
ANY game, including AI and Friend Challenge, will count toward your quests. The 2 Hearts awarded for your first win of the day, however, are available through any game EXCEPT AI and Friend Challenge. That includes Ranked, Normal, Expeditions, Gauntlet, and Lab games.
Do I have to pick which quest to make progress on?
Nope! Any games you play simultaneously count toward Epic Quests, event quests, regular daily quests, and even the region road. No need to pick—just play and enjoy the show!
Do I have to pay to participate?
K/DA ALL OUT is a free event for every player! All players have access to the K/DA quests and event path (which include icons, spell cards, an emote, and a card back), as well as the new Star Power Lab. The Event Pass—which grants access to premium rewards on the path, like guardians, emotes, champion card backs—is an optional purchase.
We’ve focused on making the core gameplay elements of LoR (the cards) as accessible as possible by giving you the ability to get what you want, how you want, in a game where players can compete regardless of how much they spend. On the other hand, paid personalization is a completely optional way to customize your experience beyond the core gameplay. The Event Pass is a great opportunity to snag some exclusive cosmetic items and support the game at the same time.
How much is the Event Pass?
You can pick up the Event Pass in the store for 975 coins (and immediately unlock the Stella Guardian when you do). We’re excited to include a variety of unique, highly-themed personalization items as part of the Pass, and we hope you feel like it’s a great value for all the rewards you can unlock over the course of the event!
Is K/DA ALL OUT happening in League of Legends as well?
As a part of the Worlds 2020 event in League of Legends, Seraphine, the newest champion to hit the Rift will be debuting, along with an Ultimate skin: K/DA ALL OUT Seraphine. Joining her are the global popstars, K/DA, with new 2020 skins based on their iridescent promotional outfits: K/DA ALL OUT Ahri, K/DA ALL OUT Akali, K/DA ALL OUT Evelynn, and K/DA ALL OUT Kai’Sa. And finally, K/DA ALL OUT Kai’Sa Prestige Edition will be unlockable with 2000 Worlds Tokens until November 24, 2020.

Here's a breakdown of the numbers for anyone who's interested in grind-v-reward:
So far, it feels like a bit of a slog -- I've played 1-2 hours so far but only have 18 hearts and am ~25% up the 2nd quest of the chain. That said: if they refresh that epic quest chain on Patch 1.14 and allocate an additional ~60 hearts for the second 2 weeks, that should be a total of ~120 hearts that just happen "organically", meaning you'd only be left needing 50 hearts (10 days at 3 wins/each) for all the cards. Max rewards is a bit stiffer: you're short 150 hearts, which means at least 3 wins on all 27 days plus an additional 15 PvP wins.
EDIT: apparently there's an additional small quest line for unlocking each of the cards; they are good for an additional 14 hearts/card = 70 hearts total. This reddit post does a better job explaining than I did: https://www.reddit.com/r/LegendsOfRuneterra/comments/jkax9a/you_will_be_able_to_complete_the_kda_event_pass/
I think the reason why everyone hates the recent K/DA events is because of Riot starting to focus more than K/DA than the League of Legends lore since Seraphine's debut. League of Legends already has deep, complex lore and all of a sudden it gets shoved aside because "hey, we should appeal to the k-pop fans" and they drop everything to appeal to them, including making a pop star champion. They focus more on cashing in to the trend than considering the ramifications of picking up the pieces, such as having no idea what to do when bringing Seraphine to the Runeterra canon so they just rushed her lore and left lots of plot holes.
Even worse, they made a Twitter account for Seraphine (the one in the K/DA AU, not the canon) so they could promote her K/DA Seraphine skin set. They recently came under fire by making posts of her anxiety, which got a lot of backlash since while it would be relatable for a real person, Seraphine is a fictional character owned by a large company and all of that effort will ultimately go towards selling her skin (and as I said before, she isn't the canon version to begin with).
I'm just rambling now, but the fact that Riot is putting so much effort in glorifying the K/DAverse shows how they're so eager to cash in to a demographic that they make ill-thought choices they don't foresee the consequences of.
I'm not trying to sound like a toxic hater back here, but a lot of people believe the same. I hardly see anyone who likes these K/DA events other than the target demographic.
I care not about cosmetics I don't have to buy. I'm just curious about how the cards will impact the game. A couple of them look interesting for sure.
I wasn't really annoyed by this stuff before, but now I see something that pisses me off beyond all measure.
They have locked a legitimate LoR Guardian behind the K/DA premium paywall! I never intended to buy into the K/DA event because I genuinely don't need it in my life, and I had hoped that all the stuff it unlocked would have to do with K/DA. I still don't intend to buy in, but now there's no way for me to get the Stellacorn.
I mean, it's whatever, since it feels like Riot's design and balance decisions are gradually driving me out of the game anyway, but still ...
I would love to have a couple of the guardians in the premium pass, but I still feel like I have more guardians than I can use thanks to the Spirit Blossom event. LoR makes so many cosmetics that I hope most players don’t worry about being completists.
There is a very good chance that Stellacorn will be available with an alternate skin before long, if that helps.
I’m actually more fine with these than I thought I’d be. The art itself looks like stained-glass windows so it still kind of fits LoR aesthetic. The animations that play also could conceivably be magic spell mirages. Overall it’s less jarring than I’d thought it would be.
I, for the life of me, will never understand why some people are so adamantly against K/DA appearing in LoR. Because it isn't canon to the LoL universe? Even if you do care about LoL lore, it's not like alternate universe cards appearing in LoR will "ruin" the lore in any way, and it doesn't mean they can't have more proper lore-focused expansions later.
People got a little up in arms when Ragnaros, Lightlord was revealed, but then they got over it and accepted that Hearthstone isn't canon to WoW, and now it's a pretty widely accepted (and even renowned) part of the game. Same would happen with LoR if Riot eventually did it. This feels like a good way to kickstart the game's spread outside of traditional lore. There are literally only upsides that can come from allowing LoR to do this.
I had a discussion about this when it was first announced. I feel similarly to you, in that I always thought exploring the alternate LoL universes was inevitable, but I did gather that the main issue is how much of an aesthetic mismatch there is between K/DA and fantasy LoR. That puts it on a different level to a holy Ragnaros, which is a long way from canon but still firmly within the usual fantasy genre of Warcraft.
That said, from what I can tell the main LoL universe looks to be a mess of anachronisms, and you don't need to stretch it too far before you're allowing K-pop and motorbikes alongside medieval soldiers.
I think the hate stems from K/DA itself and not just the lore break but I could be wrong. I for one don't love this event because K/DA all out is awful in my opinion I preferred the original, but if say we had battlecast event I would think it's neat, and my sentiment might be shared with the people who dislike it. On the other hand, people might still be up in anger about Battlecast since it isn't canon in LoL or maybe they love it who knows.
So yeah IMO I would be fine if we had the OG K/DA because I don't like the reboot but the reboot in LOR and LoL just feels kinda forced to me at least and maybe that's why others don't like it too.
Why is the text on all these so long? I stopped playing for a while but has the text become that lengthy on all spells? I mean Go dead hard or whatever is like a solid paragraph
"My grandfather's deck has no pathetic cards, Kaiba! But it does contain... A very lengthy novel..."
But this isn’t just any novel, its a weird fan fiction that will scar you for life!
Weird fan fiction, obliterate!!!
Nooooooooooooo!!!!
Does anyone know if they tinkered with the progression at all compared to the last event? Last time I bought the pass only to figure out getting everything wasn't really doable within the time I wanted to spend on the game. Has this changed?
They have changed things for sure. Whether it'll be suited for your purposes is hard to say. You can always try to collect hearts first and buy the pass later if you fear you won't be able to gather as many as you'd wish.
This has got to be one of the most forced things i've seen. Whole thing feels shallow, made just for money. Harrowing event would have been much better. Oh well, at least the spells are interesting, even though the shiny crystal popstar animations don't fit the game at all...
Yup.
It's a shame that one of the things I enjoyed was the lore and the interactions between the cards and champions. Having them acknowledge each other and the such. Guess they took a page out of Hearthstone's book and said "hey hearthstone has wacky alternative universe stuff in it, so we should too!"
But the reason I enjoyed this over hearthstone was because of that lack of "silly" shit. I'll play the game for now, but I'll be honest, this is a strike against them. I've been encouraging some of my hearthstone friends to play this game because it has a different feel to it (not quit hearthstone, just try this out). But if they continue to cram this KPop and other absurd stuff down our throats I'll be sure to stop encouraging people to play this.
You hear that Riot? If you are reading this at all, If it comes down to making me choose between the silliness of hearthstone and the absurdness of LoR...I'm going with Hearthstone. The devil that I know is better than the devil that I don't.
They probably won't ever do events for each game. I think they will just do the same event for all games at the same time.
