Nice. For a lot of decks I don't think it will be too hard to trigger the corruption, and it is also a nice card for the new Y'shaarj. And even if you have to play it as a 5 mana 4/4 rush, it isn't even that bad.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
Pretty bad card, since it's obviously can't be played in the same turn, so you need to wait another turn to have 8/8 rush. Too slow.
Knowledge is Power
I don't think that this sees play. the uncorrupted side is very poor, and the corrupted is not a long sight better.
I will add the caveat that any viable support for corrupt will change that analysis.
This post is discussing the wild format.
Seems really strong, but you will play this as an 8/8 at the very least, on TURN 8. The only reason you would want this card in your deck, is if your playing some kind of Y'Shaarj, the Defiler control deck, so you get an immidiate 8/8 or 16/16 on the field, depending on which you play first. This card has potential, but it will need a slower meta, or matchup to become a good card, i think.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
Amazing Arena card. For standard, will need to wait for more Corrupt support to properly evaluate it
This ain't no place for a hero
5 mana 4/4 Rush isn't horrible but it is weak, so you'll want to corrupt it.
5 mana 8/8 Rush is quite strong obviously, but it requires you to play a 6-Cost card meaning you can't play them both in the same turn. So, 3 stars at best for me.
In Arena though, you'll probably have quite a fair few amount of big cards to Corrupt this, as well as the fact that it's just generally stronger there when Corrupted.
Looks insane, but we'll see how often will it get Corrupted. Not the worst play in a clutch even just as is tho.

In most cases this won’t see play until at least turn seven, and an 8/8 rush isn’t bad then as it can clear a big minion your opponent just played.
I guess it's good for decks with a higher curve, since this has to be corrupted to be playable. Right now it's very hard to evaluate the mechanic but this card seems a little clunky.
Can't be totally dissmissed yet cause of Y'sheraj.
it's neutral so.. nothing too spectacular yet.
Its a card that fits well into decks that play expensive things like warlock, priest, and other midrange decks. And its a really good card to boot, when corrupted. Even uncorrupted its still a 5 mana deal 4, which in a pinch is not really that bad.
Combos really well with yshaarj. And that alone is reason enough to find ways to play this card.
Guys, remember Dragonmaw Poacher? Remember how it saw a TON of play for the first few days, then we all cast it aside cuz it sucked?
"Be excellent to each other." -Bill and Ted
Thats quite a bit of stat once corrupted - if corrupted becomes a steady things, I think this could be part of the package
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
Decent card in a vacuum, 4 damage removal when in a pinch. 8/8 with rush for 5 mana is good value.
It seeing play will depend on future support cards for the corrupted mechanic along the lines of [Hearthstone Card (Y'Shaarj, The Defiler) Not Found].
Even as a 4/4 rush it doesn't seem bad for the cost.
Very strong minion, but only can ump to board on turn 7 or more
a 5mana 4/4 rush is pretty dar bad though. Like warrior has a 3/3 rush for 3. or at 5 cost 4/4 rush it aso grew when it killed stuff
This is begging to be in a control warrior deck. After seeing someone utilize Commencement combined with Ceremonial Maul to get 2 gnarly things on the board, having this in your hand waiting for someone to drop a giant just seems fitting.
I don't think it will go into anything Aggro, it's too slow for that and 5 for 4/4 rush won't bring as much value as other options. But again, in a control deck, which this set looks like it is setting up to bring back into the meta, this will find a home
Rush is part of Warrior's identity, so their rush minion will be better than neutral ones.
A neutral 5 mana 4/4 rush isn't bad, remember that Devoted Maniac sees play.
By The Holy Light!
And Maniac sees play because it a not 5man but 4 and invokes. Warrio its a 5/2 rush for 4, for shmaan tis a4/3 rush for walrock summons 2 imps etc.
Devoted maniac is WAY better then a 5mana 4/4 rush.
releas ea 5mana neutral 4/4 rush with nothign else and NO PERSON is gonna play it becase it sucks.
and maniac if was 3mana and no invoke(so woul be comparable to a 5mana 4/4 rush) no one would pay it at all. Because it woulf suck just as much as 5mana 4/4 rush.
Class cards are always better, as a neutral this should be fine.
I don't see this card as becoming competitive. It has terrible synergy with Guardian Animals and looks more like an arena card tbh
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
This looks bad, the latest you can play this with its upgraded stats is turn 7. Though it could be useful in control decks that don't really care if they curve into their plays.
I would agree with you, if N'Zoth, God of the Deep wasn't a thing. An 8/8 Rush is 'good enough', but resummoning an 8/8 Rush with a bunch of other minions is great. Unless we see an even better neutral beast, these two cards will most likely live and die together.

I'm the only one who stops to see if he's dead.
Hmm. Turns out he's dead.
People seem to be expecting an awful lot out of the uncorrupted version. If the card were better than other 5-drops when uncorrupted, no one would ever bother corrupting it.
The whole point of the Corrupt keyword is that the card kinda sucks (but may still be worth playing) unless you trigger it, when it becomes extremely good.
As for "You can't play it corrupted until turn 7," well, yes, but then you get a 5 mana 8/8 with rush AND still have 2 mana left over for something else -- a hero power at the very least.
Power of this card depends on how much corrupt synergies will work out...

Seems like a simple design to show off of Corrupt. I believe this can be a game changer in Arena and maybe end up being thrown into Corrupt decks as a one off. Y'Shaarj, the Defiler throwing out 0 mana 8/8 Giant tentacled Elephants at your opponents board does seem pretty good. Of course, that means having the card in hand and play it only after turn 6, but that's a fine price to pay for a giant board swing in the late game.
Rating cards on coolness factor rather than predicting power because I like screwing up rating averages (and because I suck at predicting real power levels, but we'll ignore that LUL)
Wins per class (2/6/22): DH-197; Druid-996; Hunter-91«60; Mage-1056; Paladin-1126; Priest-746; Rogue-961; Shaman-1095; Warlock-871; Warrior-906
Synergizes with N'zoth and Y'sharrj, so that's nice. Could see this in a multi-old god deck, but it might be too slow for typical play.
Seems decent in a Y'Shaarj deck - great showcase of the "Corrupt" mechanic
I'd probably play Faceless Corruptor over this most of the time. Might still see play in Corrupted decks, should they make it in the meta.
really nice
TOTAL CORRUPTION
TOTAL POWAAAAAAA
I think this is good its either a mini smack or a huge smack and either way it'll be played
Self proclaimed good at battlegrounds
Meh, I doubt it will see play in constructed.
5 mana 8/8 with rush. Yes please! Rush Warrior will love this card.
5 mana 8/8 rush seems nice, 4/4 not so much
All hail the banshee queen.
8/8 Rush Beast for N'Zoth is good impact, but you do not want the un-corrupted version in your res-pool.
Cool concept for corrupt, but I don't think its worth the payoff, especially because you have to play a 6 cost card. Maybe menagerie decks run this for their beast though.
"Some inspirational quote from some famous person" - Some famous person
This might see play in a new Y'Shaarj, the Defiler deck.
Giant body for control decks, though I feel like you're only running this card because you're specifically building around Y'Shaarj
Hey, you heard about that Mario guy?
Our very first example of Corruption. Honestly, I completely wrote this off as trash at first glance - and it probably still is - but it provides some much needed impact on a Y'Shaarj, the Defiler turn which gives me pause. Maybe? Probably not... but maybe.
Welcome to the site!
I'm not big on the corrupt mechanic.
Chumbawumba is the worst band name.
The payoff for corrupting this is pretty substantial, but it's slow to corrupt. The only way I see this being played is with N'Zoth, God of the Deep as the best neutral beast option and maybe in some Y'Shaarj, the Defiler decks.
For glory, honor, and gold!
Strong after being corrupted, but not sure if it's strong enough to take up a deck slot
It's a worse Faceless Corruptor unless you can reliably Corrupt it--in which case it's only slightly worse than Faceless Corruptor.
I don't want to cure cancer; I want to turn people into dinosaurs.
Maybe this works but I think it is hard to hold onto this for the corrupt value. This one will more often be corrupted by happenstance than by design.
Unfortunately, common sense isn't as common as it should be.
