Basically the cornerstone of Shaman decks from now until...the next best substitute arrives.

Control, Aggro, Midrange. All of them will run this and build aaround it approprietly.

As it stands, there are only 9 Shaman spells that aren't Nature: Devolving Missiles, Guidance, Primordial Studies, Revolve, Deathmatch Pavilion, Feral Spirit, Molten Blast, Nofin Can Stop Us and Totemic Reflection.

Out of these only Missiles, and Feral Spirit can be considered universally good enough, but Shaman doesn't actuallly rely on Missiles like Mage does and Feral Spirit is far from necessary.

Guidance and Studies will become less and less relevant the more the discover pool is diluted so there absence won't be missed and everything else is part of specific archetypes that you can still build with this card, because as long as you add enough Nature spells into the deck (most of which are usually run in those decks anyways) you still have a good chance of getting your mana's worth (and drawing just a single spell isn't horrible either).

    I tried having fun once.

    It was awful.

That's the card that shaman needs, control shaman lacks of card draw, and that is a tutor for 2 cards with a body attached.

    5/5 even is not played.

Completely agree! Plenty of elementals as well that Shaman would like to run. And it doesn't necessarily need to be a straight up elemental Shaman. Running two Marshspawns and two Cagematch Custodians might be good enough already.

Alright this is exactly the kind of thing shaman needed! and i'm surprised there is no overload:4 attached to it! Okay memes aside, Shaman uses a LOT of nature spells so your probably going to get the effect off most of the time. This will 100% see play in every shaman deck in standard for quite some time, even if they get more card draw!

In wild it's probably going to find a home as well. Elemental Shaman will surely make space for it, and most elemental shaman spells like Earthen Might and Elementary Reaction are nature spells. Actually after checking the other nature spells in the game so far, boy is Primal Dungeoneer GOOD. Devolve and Maelstrom Portal, some of the most used removal spells in Wild.. oh and Evolve as well are nature spells, so it even works well with those spells!

Yeah this is an insanely good shaman card that will see a LOT of play! (Finally a good shaman card? feels like it's been AGES... But shaman does still need a wincondition....)

RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.

Interesting synergy between nature spells and elementals. Great draw engine for the mana cost.

You play this card, draw 2 cards, one of which is almost always be Cagematch Custodian which will then proceed to draw another card.

Well, let's say that this card will be in shaman for the entire 2 years until its finally rotated. How many shaman cards can ever say the same? This godlike card is simply what shaman needs, and will be using for a long time.

I like the idea of the dungeoneers, build your deck around a specific spell school and these guys draw the spells for it while providing an upside. I just don't know that Shaman has tools right now for an elemental/nature spells deck to work. I hope it emerges as something viable, just to give another alternative class to play right now.

Unfortunately, common sense isn't as common as it should be.

Now that's draw. 2 cards almost garenteed. Not being an elemental herself does break early synergy but I can see this being used to pull rockbiter and Alakir to set up for a strong finisher. Definitely will see play.

The card is indeed so flexible that it may be appropriate in any archetype.
I'm excited for this one - still gotta grind 200 wins to complete the 1k portait :)

Decent card for Shaman. But it also depends on how many new Nature Spells and Elementals we will get for shaman. Still decent tough.

I doubt that it will be great in any current shaman builds, but maybe you could tool it into an midrange shaman list with some strong elemental it wants to tutor, like Thunderhead or Cumulo-Maximus? Seems interesting, but doesn't really slot into any existing decks.

This post is discussing the wild format.

I'm glad Blizzard listened to the community, but honestly, this card should have been in the original barrens set, not the miniset.

Now I'm quite excited to play with those unused elementals

This might be the best Dungeoneer, since Shaman really needs the draw ability, and as others have noted, the restriction is manageable.

Shaman so desperately needs card draw, that this will be in every Standard shaman deck. This means they will all be forced into a Nature spell direction, featuring at least a few Elementals. The main synergy I see will be guaranteeing your big burst finisher, tutoring Rockbiter Weapon and eitherCagematch Custodian (which then pulls Doomhammer) or Al'Akir the Windlord.

This should be good, especially for an elemental deck. Shaman has lots of nature spells.

I can see this being used a lot for die hard Shamans.  The fact that you can get 2 for the price of one and have something on the board with legs means that it can be an efficient way to cycle through you deck .

3 mana tutor 2. This card isn't enough to make Shaman viable, but it's a very good start.

Welp, this is going into every Shaman deck. They really need draw and this is perfect.
