Is this what freeze shaman synergy looks like today?
Its likely that strong minion for ping mage, or some sort of midrange secret hunter.
There's not much else you can do with this thing in standard unless there's a card that counters freeze. But it is a big boy, and maybe that's enough for this to sometimes see play, but I wouldn't count on it. Probably not consistent enough for ranked.

Cool card 2: The electric boogaloo
If you play Deathstalker Rexxar save Explosive Trap. Got it.
As far as I know the beast pool for Deathstalker Rexxar is limited to the beasts that were in Standard when the death knights rotated. For other cards that generate random beast cards Explosive Trap would be useful though.

I'm sure it was limited to a fixed pool at some point in time, had something to do with the layout of the card text requiring manual work. Did they later implement auto-layout and remove the restriction?
