Smol Tess (or Build your own Puzzlebox if you will)
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
Tess Greymane but only for 5 cards, and its random. I like it! You can semi-control what happens, considering you have had to play the cards so they enter the pool, AND Contraband Stash doesn't get transformed by Cera'thine Fleetrunner so that's also good. And obviously you can Preparation it down to 3 mana. This will see play in burgle rogue.
In wild it will obviously see play in burgle rogue. Why NOT play Mini-tess alongside Tess Greymane? :D
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
Tess in a spell! Now just if there was a way to consistently get big minions from other classes...
This is great.
[Hearthstone Card (Test Greymane) Not Found] for the new Burgle Rogue decks. This is mostly just a fun, meme card that I can't wait to mess around with.
In standard its a thinly disguised christmas tree.
What this can do is staggering enough that I think its just good, and will get better in time. And since you have a good control over what you get, its unlikely to backfire.
Are you saying this is just going to copy a bunch of secrets? :)

Yeah. Just grab secrets from hanar and before you know it you have a 5 mana card that basically invalidates your opponent's entire turn.
I'll be honest I kind of forgot Hanar existed.

I love that the art and flavour text references the briefcase in Pulp Fiction, which is as close to Tess' "You have no idea what I'm capable of" as a spell can come since it won't have voicelines of its own.
Mechanically, I have noticed it has potential to be HS' first true infinite loop (which isn't dependent on apm and the turn timer). Most cards cannot generate themselves anymore, but Tess is an exception and she will summon copies of herself if you have a) played her before and b) changed class. (I guess it's because there is no RNG involved in what she replays.) With Tess that isn't overly helpful because she doesn't activate minion's battlecries, but Contraband Stash doing the same thing would replay its whole effect because it is a spell. So as long as you have not played more than 5 rogue cards at the time you play the second Stash, it should loop effects infinitely when it replays the first copy.
Obviously infinite loops are bad news for code, so I expect a cap will be introduced if it doesn't already exist. But for all we know at the moment you should be able to get practically infinite damage from looping, say, Sinister Strikes.
Changing class from rogue is normally far from trivial and requires a lot of luck to steal a hero card (Maestra won't help here). With Vanessa VanCleef and people using hero cards a lot at the start of the expansion, that should actually be quite easy when the expansion launches.
Of course the deck would never be meta viable, not least because the opponent just has to not play a hero card and then you're stuck relying on whatever 24+ neutral cards you run, but it is neat from a theorycrafting perspective so I thought I'd share it.
(5) mana replay 5 cards ; cool concept - body-less mini-Tess
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
As an ex-burgle main and all out Tess fanboy, this card makes me cry. Burgle Rogue struggles in wild and if this were a 2 mana card it would still be cumbersome because the set up (you want it to go off on big effects...not small ones... And you'd want it to cast all five).
At 5 mana most times that 5 mana is wasted. Really sad they went so safe with it but I'm sure I'll mess around with it in my highlander burgle Rogue deck.
The Only Constructed Deck Worth Playing:

Seems... playable. At least the burgle rogue enthusiasts will experiment with it and Cera'thine Fleetrunner. Most times it'll be inconsistent though as you'd be replaying random cards that might be below average. Maybe could be paired in a deathrattle rogue deck with Reconnaissance
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
Mini Tess Greymane with two copies, go for the casino burgle rogue
This is probably only good because Cera'thine Fleetrunner exists. Shadowjeweler Hanar could work too.
Between Cera'thine Fleetrunner and Reconnaissance this could easily summon a full board for cheap, and getting that twice is amazing. You'd probably want to limit the number of spells from another class that you cast to avoid mistargets or low impact randomness here, so while the Burgle Rogue archetype probably still includes cards like Swashburglar, Shadowjeweler Hanar and Keywarden Ivory (to help ensure Double Agent and Wildpaw Gnoll value), you'd have to be pretty thoughtful about when to use them.
One thing that gets me about the way that this is worded, will this trigger 5 more from Tess Greymane?
It's nice because you have a little bit more of control over this than Tess but still it all depends on quality of cards burgled so while the card present ok value, it might not have the game winning factor on it.
Burgle Rogue has never been great and without the weapon there isn't much lasting payoff to try and make it work in standard right now. It will be fun, I'm sure I'll try this in wild in conjunction with Tess Greymane.
Unfortunately, common sense isn't as common as it should be.
Mini Tess! Might be limited in impact if you've burgled too many cheap things though.
Hey, you heard about that Mario guy?
Contraband Stash is the big payoff for Thief Rogue: a little clunky but definitely worth running if you're playing that deck. From game to game you've got less of an idea of what kind of things oyu'll get for your stash, but I think there's a good chance it will usually be pretty good.
I don't want to cure cancer; I want to turn people into dinosaurs.
Love the idea of it. Not sure how well it pans out in practice, but at least Burgle Rogue is getting some actual payoffs so the deck can be fun to play even if it doesn't come out competitive.
Welcome to the site!
More fuel for Burgle Rogue. Let the meme dreams (and YT clips) continue.
Really nice flavor, and a great tool for burgle Rogue. I expect to see that deck making a comeback in some form.
