Can someone give me a run-down on the HearthPwn situation?

Last I heard, Curse had abandoned HearthPwn, which lead Flux to shut it down and move operations to this site. But just now I went on Twitch and saw a bunch of high-profile streamers using HearthPwn (or a very similar lookalike) to theorycraft SoU decks. So what's going on? Did Flux move back to HearthPwn? Is this site gonna be abandoned? Or is there another site that copied HearthPwn's look?

The old site was bought from Curse and necroed by a new group of admins, while the old group led by Flux is now dedicated to this OOC site.
OOC is meant to be a brand new and better version of what was HearthPwn before.
And imo it is indeed already, if anything because this site is muuuch faster. And being fully owned by Flux, they can keep improving and adding stuff as they like.
Yeah, which is awesome!!! :D :D :D
Yes this site had a lot less bloat and overhead from a technical perspective. Of course there was a limited amount that could be done to Hpwn to make it more efficient by Flux.
Nice that OOC is developed by people who know what they're doing and have full control of the platform, backend, technologies used.
If you want to check just look at a front page load of this site versus the other site in a web developer or network sniffer tool that shows whats being loaded, how big and how long it takes. There's a bit of a difference (understatement).
All generalizations are false.
Sadly it's still running so there's a competition between the 2 sites.. this site is clearly higher quality but the traffic is split between the sites so we get less discussion here.
Yeah, which totally sucks!!! :P :P :P
Agreed - the speed is so nice.
Okay, so we've identified the problem. How do we fix this?

It's not like any site would give up, flux and co. put a lot of efford into the community and the hpwn team is just starting out and I don't know much about what's going there but I doubt they will just make the community migrate to another site just because the traffic and attenttion got split.
There was already a split in the community of HS between HPWN, reddit and blizzard forums it's always like that since reddit every forum community is generally smaller than them by default.
As a user you could see a plus that both sites will put different kind of content as top decks or news topics the downside is of course the lower traffic in both.I am not sure how would you go about it..
Create an environment, where new members would like to come and join and everyone can enjoy it. That is our job too, of course, but every user can help with that :)
While it would have been great to just transfer the entire community, having a competition is always good, so one upholds himself to higher standards and wont get lazy to not fall behind, which is ultimately good for the "customer" :)

I am sure as this site improves, the community will grow fast. I sometimes look over to HPWN and there is much less content like original Articles than it was before. For me there is no point in going back...
If nobody hates you, you are doing something wrong!
I really don't want neither site to die or be abandoned by the community, I'm fine with both existing at the same time. :) Also, with time, people will tend to compare both sites more and more, which can lead to very funny moments and some hilarious internet fights!!! ;)
Yeah, more improvements on this site will inevitably make much more people to use Out of Cards as their default Hearthstone forum.
Also, love your signature, bro! ;)
As Sinti mentioned, a little competition is typically a good thing, so that no one rests on their laurels. My preference is to be here, but I appreciate that both sites exist and push each other to work hard and innovate.
Also, we’ve got the better people over here, and that’s what really matters!
I fully agree!!! :D :D :D
These are fan sites supporting the community for the game we all love.
Competition and comparison is fine, but allowing division to enter only hurts everyone in the end.
At the end of the day, the official forums and Reddit get the biggest slice of the pie. Which is probably to be expected
Aside from that, more power to all of us. Let it be about the game that we love and not about which URL we choose to visit and hang out.
OOC has become my default website but I'd be lying if I didn't say that I still snipe the main page occasionally over there.
I love Tavern Brawls and the "most upvoted" decks over there still dominate that scene for me (NA) or so it seems; so I look for decks here that counter those.
I think the better deck builders are here and, since I can't even build a decent Whizbang deck, I definitely appreciate the creativity, dedication, and knowledge that deck builders here have and so kindly share with the rest of us.
Need polls and more forum tools to booster up the discussions.
The page does load up faster here, give it that.
