The folks behind DC Dual Force have announced that the game will be shutting down at the end of February, 2024.
The game launched into Open Beta only five months ago, though in its short lifespan, never released a mobile client. In the hyper-competitive digital TCG industry, it's almost without a doubt a requirement to have a mobile platform if you want a chance at success. If you recently purchased anything with real money in DC Dual Force, all purchases from October 17 onwards are being refunded automatically.
With the announcement, a patch has also gone live which disabled purchasing in-game currency and subscriptions, and all players have been granted a gold subscription for free. Additionally, each day, all players will be receiving a very generous 8000 Gems & 6000 Atoms, which will let anyone who wants to check the game out before its shut down an excellent opportunity to do so.

DC Dual Force Shutdown Announcement
Quote From DC Dual Force DC Dual Force Players,
We have made the difficult decision to close DC Dual Force. Players will no longer be able to make any in-app purchases as of today and the game server will officially be shut off on February 29, 2024. Until that date, players can continue to play, create an account, and use all their in-game items and cards.
All purchases made on or after October 17, 2023 will be refunded automatically. If you did not receive a refund by January 31st, 2024, please contact the platform that purchase was made on. Based on where players made those purchases, Epic Games Store, Steam, or an Xsolla company stated as a merchant in your purchase confirmation will make refunds to the payment method used for the purchases. If the payment method is no longer valid or past the refund period, refunds will be made to Steam wallet or Epic Games wallet. If your payment method is no longer valid for Xsolla, alternative means of refund can be discussed with [email protected].
We hope you have enjoyed playing DC Dual Force. We sincerely thank all of our players for the support you have shown us through this journey.
Sincerely,
– The DC Dual Force Team

Digital card game grift is running down?
Should happen to battle royale too.
Lmao. I guess this is still better than giving people hopes and forcing the game to run for a year or two
That was fast. I even didn't have time to download it.
Obviously, they failed because this game wasn't on mobile in first place. Marvel Snap has around 8 millions active users but on steam there is only ~5000 users in average (10k in peak). DC Dual Force had 919 players in all-time peak and less than 100 in average. Thats not enough to keep game alive even without costly licences.
DC Dual Force is one of those games I meant to try at some point, but forgot. My contribution probably wouldn't have saved the game, but it could've added up if enough people did that. Guess it don't matter now.
I guess that's why gaming world returned to single player products at the first place and that's why they are more successful than online ones. There are just so much online games that people already keep playing and Time is the inevitable limited resource. I mean a day is already 24 hours, there are more good games than a person can play daily. Single player games at least finishes at some point but online games are becoming addictions in time so people just don't and can't even try newer online games.
Look at us, for how many years are we playing Hearthstone now ? We can't just let it go because of our progression etc. It is lke sunk cost but for time instead of money.
That's also why online games like GTA Online etc. also successful. Their progression is like that if you stop playing for 2-3 years you are not losing anything at all when you would return unlike mmorpgs. Some companies aware of that some like this one not it seems.
These all are personal opinions though but i feel like they are close to facts.
