In a shock announcement, Hearthstone's 2025 Roadmap for Year of the Raptor has been revealed and we will travel to the Emerald Dream in the first expansion!
- The first mini-set in The Emerald Dream is Druids of the Flame.
- We'll see a clash between the Cenarion Circle and the forces of the Old Gods! The Druids of the Flame join during the mini-set.
- The second expansion is The Shrouded City and takes place in Un'Goro crater.
- Festival of the Dinosaur is the the mini-set.
- We're going back to Un'Goro crater to look for a lost city. Keep an eye on the Volcano!
- The third expansion is the Heroes of Time and features Chromie.
- The End of Time is in the mini-set.
- We travel through time to recruit legendary warcraft heroes.
- There will be an "epic showdown" with Murozond at the end of time.
- The second and third expansion names are not final as are all the mini-set names.
Not much information was shared about the expansions, though that shouldn't be very surprising. Are you looking forward to any of these themes?

Well... what an awesome way to hype up the Emerald Dream... instead of doing teasers on twitter and making the players guess and hope it's the Emerald Dream, Blizzard are just bam - here's Emerald Dream and the rest of the expansions next year.
Makes me worried they had so little content to show us at the WoW Direct that they were forced to reveal the usual stuff we expect.
I don't know if I'd be worried by this. I think they just don't want to announce anything else that might be in development if it's not close to being ready. Don't want another tournament mode debacle! But the expansion themes are likely set and therefore safe to announce!
This is a massive shift announcing stuff this far out. Like apparently the names aren't even all finalized. I wonder what drove this decision.
It was all a part of the Warcraft anniversary super-event video; I doubt this will become a regular thing. They just want to get people hyped and stay on-board.
In other words: They didn't have anything else to show. I was really hoping for some quality of life updates.
Even if they have some QoL stuff in the pipeline, they probably don't want to say much until it's almost ready to reveal. Would hate to announce something like, I don't know... a tournament mode, and then not be able to deliver!
The expansions, however, are pretty set at this point. They spend so much time developing them in advance that this may have been all they felt safe announcing at this time, and had to have something to present.
Neat they mapped out the year. Curious if Shrouded City will bring quests again as Un'goro did. Really looking forward to the End Time. Time travel and dragons, lets go! The Infinite flight have always been a favorite villain of mine. Looking forward to that awesome dragon art.
Quests returning with the Un'Goro sequel, when they were introduced in JtU is a pretty good bet. Hadn't really thought about it, but they don't seem to like to go too long without a quest or questline. Plus, Death Knight doesn't have one so they probably want to introduce something for them.
This is a pretty huge curveball. At the same time though, also a pretty exciting one. We can speculate the whole time as to what themes we'll see, but we can better guess ourselves as we see cards from the other expansions in the year.
